My wife picked me up a Movie release Storm Shadow at the Wally World today (one of the 2 figures that I think looks HOT). It was a good birthday present.
I got it out and was playing with it. The right hand was holding a sword in the package (rubber banded on whcih is easy to un-sword). the left hand didn't really want to accept the guns that came with him, not even the pistol. Suprisingly I couldn't get the sword in his left hand either. It looks like I could exacto his thumb away from his finger nuckles and make it fit. But before I do that is this a common problem or do I have an oddball piece that needs a little cleaning up? Heil Cobra! |

Do you mean his thumb and his finger are actually connected? I would just try dipping his hand in boiling water for a few seconds first to soften it and then stretch it out a bit and then quickly run it under the tap to harden it again.

Would that method work if the figure's hand is opened wide and you want it to hold something? Figure in question is SW Evolutions/Build-A-Droid Darth Vader. His right hand is in what I assume to be a choking pose as if grabbing someone by the throat, but I want him to actually hold his lightsaber in that hand.

I have tried the hot water method and it does seem to work well.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Currently I have his hand wrapped up in a twist tie to clench his fist and has been like that for a couple of weeks. When I untie it though, it holds the shape for a little while but eventually loosens up.

Just take a cup of hot water, be careful and dip the hand into it. When you take it out Hold it into the possitioin/shape you desire. It should hold that shape once it cools off.

My Stormy was the same exact way. I used an exacto knife to seperate the thumb from the rest of his hand. Looks to just be sloppy paint app on some of the figures.
