Alright here's the deal. For the most part, I am strictly MOC when it comes to my collection. Main reason is just because I like the way they look carded, and I won't lose any of the parts. But lately, I've been buying more and more 25th figs to open.
One of my favorite characters is still absent however. Zarana. A few years back it took me a good while to find my SpyTroops Zarana/Gung Ho pack but seconds ago, I damn near ripped the thing open with reckless abandon. Only a few things stopped me. A: It's still possible we could get an even more amazing Zarana in the 25th line. B: I'm afraid I won't be able to replace the set MOC later. I can't seem to find any on ebay. I found her loose but not carded. C: ??? D: Profit. So my question to you, the loyal legions of Cobra is, how hard to come by is this set MOC? What's the average price you've seen it go for? I'm not even sure I'll want to replace it later, but I think I'd have an easier time opening it just knowing I can replace it with out too much effort.

A: It's certainly possible. And certainly welcomed among the fandom. If Hasbro is listening, it will happen.
B: Then buy the loose one and save yours for MOC... come on, man, use the other half of your grey matter. You know, the side that isn't filled with girly pictures and jokes about a Loose Zarana. I know, I know, but just for a minute. C: Uh... !!! and a little ~~~ too, you %%% D: What's this profit you speak of? These are plastic trinkets intended to bring you joy from displaying them. |

Oh the profit was a joke from south park. The Underpants Gnomes grand plan in life was:
Step 1: Steal Underpants Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit! But I guess what I essentially meant was, I COULD just buy a loose one sure, but I have this one right here that I'm not sure I'll miss or not if I open it. Only then would I want to replace it. If I don't open this one, I may wait a while to see what Hasbro has up their sleeves. I'd be pretty disappointed if there is no Zarana in their plans.

Ah, my South Park trivia is very limited. Ah well, the fact remains, that while its probably in the works. The best bet to keep you MOC figure safe is to buy a loose figure.

Yeah actually it probably is. Looking at this card I have, it's in really great shape, and it's moved across two states. There's only one minor bend on it, I'd be lucky to find one this nice on ebay. That was something I didn't consider until just now.
Come on Hasbro! Give us Zarana! And Zandar wouldn't hurt either.

I have a hard time believing that any of these new toys will ever be worth anything. So many people sell on Ebay and so much stuff is kept MOC now that I think there will be a flooded market. It's not like the old days where 98% of GiJoes were opened by kids waiting to play with them. Now tons of adults collect just to "have" and probably only %50 of all the toys produced get opened.
I certainly don't see it as profitable anyway. That being said , obviously there are a few items that are worth quite a bit right away (Destro in his leopard spandex) but over all....... |

Well I'm not leaving them MOC to sell them later, I just don't want to lose all the items and card art that comes with them. I was more afraid if Zarana was going to be hard to get later had I decided to get a second one.

I buy double of everything. One to keep moc and the other to open. The moc ones, just like you, I like how they look carded. No plan on selling them in the future.
