My wife doesn't care one way or the other, she will humor me when I talk about them, but has no interest in them herself. She just doesn't want them in the living room, I have a spare room and basement for them, so long as they stay there all is good.

My Ex was ugly about it. Though I definitely had the discretionary income to afford it, and she bought $800 purses for her and our daughter, the price of a single GI Joe (at TRU, $2.86) was very much a sore spot. Hence, MY EX! My wife just watched both GI Joe movies (ROC and RET) and asked if we had a Hiss Tank.. She LOVES GI JOE! Nuff Said?

I also do not drink, smoke, gamble or have a mistress. She is happy to indulge and even support my 1:18 scale collection and that I play WoW and Torchlight, as long as I indulge her recreational smoking and that I play Mortal Combat with her, or let her watch me play CoD.

My wife sort of tolerates it, especially because when I first got back into it, it was something I was doing with my daughter who is a serious sci fi and fantasy fan. My daughter outgrew action figures and I got heavily into customizing.
My wife became uncool with it about 7 months ago. I moved to my new job a year ago and my wife stayed at the old house until it sold. She didn't realize how big my collection had become until she had to pack up a lot of it on her own. Hence why I am currently photographing stuff for a culling sale. Lots of 25th anniversary still on the card if anyone is looking for someone.
Weirdly though, her female shopping instincts can be aroused when on the hunt at thrift shops and such and actually finds things for me.
She does needle me about cost, but honestly, I am pretty cheap so she basically just makes me really think about purchases especially large (physicall, not financially) purchases that take up a lot of room. A few weeks ago, she spotted a bruder mack fire truck, JCB loader, and land rover at a thrift store. 30 bucks for all three, and now she keeps pointing out how large the mack fire truck is.

I had a decent Cobra builder army set, 7 12 inch models. I used to trash out homes that the banks foreclosed on, I found them. But the ex and I had a nasty break up. After I moved out. She chucked it all away. Said I had an hour to get it all while I was at work. 9Nine years later, I'm back into collecting, wanting to get another Cobra army.
