Okay ... did I miss someone else posting this?
Whose got it? Mine came 30 minutes ago and I'm up to Episode 2 of the MASS Device. The box is way more solid then the TF boxset. It is like a (well almost) footlocker. The comics are nice but I'd like to know who did them. They don't seem to be tied to any real continutity. Could be the new movie, could be IDW, hard to say (especially since we haven't seen Storm Shadow yet in the IDW continuity, in a story anyway...) The really nice thing is that there is a place for the movie to be put in, if you own it. I would hope this means Shout plans to release it soon as well ... though my Rhino copy will go in there for now. Haven't watched the special features yet. I'll report back when I do. The book is nice, but kind of ... well nothing new. The one for the TF book was more impressive. Any other thoughts? Whose got it? Slice |

I love the box. FAR exceeded my expectations after receiving the TF collector's set. I'm not wild about the DVDs being collected together in the two cases without any information about which episodes are on the disks, but that is a minor quible.
Just watched an episode, "The Jungle Trap". The animation is VERY clean. The commercial splits look very grainy, but the actual cartoon is much better than the TF episodes I've watched. They did a top notch job on this set.

*sigh* I wish I could afford them.
But the toys come 1st! Especially my overly expensive G1 Transformers. |

Mine came today, just getting ready to watch it. It's better then what I was expecting as far as footlocker quality etc.

I agree about the box. Awesome! Also, all of the episodes on each disc are listed in the book at the bottom of the box.

True, but the book in the TF boxset also lists them and they are listed on the back of the dvd sets as well in the boxset ... so one thing that is nicer about the G1 boxset.
My minor quibble with both is why not just put all the bonus feature discs at the end? Although has anyone picked up the normal sets? Do they have the characters pictured on them like the complete sets? Slice |

Just a word of caution. I received mine today and just opened it and the smaller box came apart from the top from the weight of the two discs sets. I guess I wasn't careful.

I got mine today as well..
I'll up load the pictures in a few minutes. I just got the box set and I think this is a bit cooler than even the TF G1 box set! The box is a small foot locker.. I is like a thick card board trunk. Metal along the edges holding it together. I thought it would be a cardboard box that the lid slides off of. Nope. It has metal hinge top that opens up. When you open up it looks like a control panel communication device! That is awesome! You lift that and on the back are the DVD boxes. Each box opens like a book with a DVD per page. on the bottom of the case are the USB drive and booklet and below the book are the tattoos. The TF matrix set is great but the packaging of this is even more awesome! If you like this series this DVD set kicks ass!! pictures... |
