Hey guys I just finished reading the 82-94 marvel run of ARAH for the first time and since I wasn’t around then I have a few lil questions. Have any of you written to post box the pit? If so, did any of you guys get responses to your letters or get your letters printed? Did any of you get the fabled no prize?

I don't remember ever writing in to G.I.Joe as a kid and if I did, I know that nothing was ever published in the Postbox the Pit section.
As far as a "No Prize," this was more of a non-response to acknowledge that a fan caught some sort of error in the comic. There was no actual prize, hence the name "no prize." You can read more about it here at this link. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_No-Prize Jason |

When I was a teenager and really into BMX bikes, when you would send them a self-addressed stamped envelope for free stickers, many bike companies would draw on the envelope and/or throw random junk from their desks into the envelope. So, the envelopes themselves became more of a gift than the stickers. Jason |

Yeah, for some time I guess you could count the envelope from Marvel comics as your "no prize."

I just came across this thread after digging through my old stuff. I had 2 letters published and they responded both times. The first time was just a postcard but the 2nd time they sent me a letter and the original paste-up board from the letters page for that issue! Pretty sweet souvenirs. I still have them all.

I didn't win a No Prize per se, but when Marvel sent me my confirmation to go on the Marvel tour I did keep the empty envelope.

When I was a kid I desperately wanted to know what a No Prize was. A few years back I looked it up on the inter web and a No Prize was a postcard that said No Prize on it.

I figured the words no prize would tell you what it was without much trouble.
