I know this is a discussion forum, and all opinions are welcome, as has been pointed out, I never said I wanted an all positive discussion, and in the original post I said myself that I do not like everything Hasbro makes. However discussion does call for depth and response. A 'This blows' lacks depth and reason.
The question was why the bitterness. As to those who ask who wants to read your positive post, that is a fair question and I suppose that fans are fans because what they are fans of gives them pleasure and that discussing it with other fans generates more pleasure. Maybe.
Does asking a question make one uptight and in need of lightening up? Does asking why people devote so much time and energy to being miserable make some one a hippy?

I used "heads up their asses" when describing Hasbro in my recent Roadblock Eulogy, (RIP: Roadblock. You Will be missed.) so I feel a bit called out by this thread and want to respond.
My comment had more to do with business sense first and foremost. Hasbro owned the trademark for the brand-name "Roadblock" regarding an action figure, and that isn't cheap. Over the run of the ARAH, they released 7 unique figures all using that brand-name but more importantly, the trademark (large bald black man, heavy machine gunner, named Marvin Hinton). So they exercised their right to the trademark and, in fact, invested in that mark thereby increasing the value. Add in being a cornerstone character used in the cartoons and more importantly, the comics (since the comics outlasted the toy line) the value of the "Roadblock" mark is very high (not nearly as high as Duke or Snake Eyes, but I would have to estimate within the top 10 for the line).
After the fall of ARAH in the early 90s, instead of retaining all their trademarks, they let them expire; hence why we have new trademarks like "Cpl. Breaker", "Ralph 'Steeler' Pulaski", and "General Tomahawk" in the 25th line. It would also explain Roadblock's initial absence in the relaunch lines: VV, Spytroops and Sigma 6. However, there must have been some work somewhere to reacquire the Roadblock mark, since Hasbro eventually made 10 unique figures using the mark (more than than their use of the initial mark) spanning the relaunch lines, where they already attempted to establish "Heavy Duty" as their "big black heavy machine gunner" character, but felt for some reason he couldn't replace Roadblock. Even the fact that the first 25thAnn 5 pack contained Roadblock, without modification to the trademark, speaks the effort they went through to get the mark and the possible commitment to it.
This long winded setup leads up to the heads up their asses comment: So why spend over 20 years building a trademark and put the cost and effort into reacquiring an expired mark, just so the mark and all the branding that comes with it is shelved and replaced by a lesser mark; a replacement that was attempted and rescinded 6 years prior involving the exact same marks? Do the 2 Roadblock-less years that Heavy Duty had reign in Sigma 6 put the Heavy Duty mark on even value as the Roadblock one?
(Almost seems like somebody somewhere has it in for old Marvin for some reason...)

I used to get bummed out reading the talkbacks on youtube or sites like Aint it cool...but Ive come to realize that most people become over confident/hostile on the internet and are quite the opposite in real life.

A complaint thread about complaint threads. O the irony
Diogenes, one of the better known proponents of the school of Cynics, was often seen to be strolling about with a lamp in broad daylight and when asked what it was for, he would reply "I'm looking for an honest man."

i think it's awesome for people to state their opinion on a product...i don't feel name calling or attacking someone is silly...
if something smells bad...you don't ignore it...you say...what's that smell...or something stinks...
it's a reaction...complaining about complaining makes you a hypocrite...
i'm a hasbro homer...a fan...i deeply appreciate the arah 25th line...it gave me my childhood back...i wasn't able to get many figures as a kid...we didn't have a lot of money...now, i look at my arah 25th joes and smile wide...that's an emotional connection...on the boards or off...it still exists...
i think debate is good...we can learn so much from each others experiences and opinions...
"how come flint always gets lady jaye to go with him and i always get you...???"
