There are so few female characters and yet the various Joe Media keeps killing them off.
Jinx: I hear is killed by Chuckles in a Comic. Lady Jaye: Killed in a Comic by a some Red Shadow chick. Cover Girl: Killed by Zartan in the Movie. Only 3 girls left. Baroness: Was in a horrible accident/explosion but lived. Scarlett: Shot in the head by the Baroness I think but lived. Zarana: Has to live among the dreadnoks. Sure is a lot of violence against female characters in Gijoe. |

Yep, they do like killing off the female Joe characters, but they can always come back, as new recruits with the same code name, but different file name.

You're getting continuities confused anyways.
In IDW only Jinx is dead. In RoC only Cover Girl is dead. So all the previous deaths don't matter. There's been no arbitary deaths, all have had a story-advancing purpose.

So, why do the stories need to keep killing Joe girls to advance their stories? Don't they have original ideas or do just like to copy one another but use a different girl? I get the idea the writers of the various Joe media sits around a table thinking of ideas till one of them says "Lets kill off one of the girls"
IMO with so few of them they shouldn't be doing it that often. |

Aside from making Flint GRIMDARK, no, it really didn't.
Neither did Jinx's in IDW. Now Chuckles is more determined than ever to...oh wait, he can never succeed in his mission, because then there won't be a Cobra for G.I. Joe to fight. Hm. Pointless shock value. Comic-Fans call it "Women in Refrigerators" syndrome. It's the kind of misogyny that's all-too-common to comic books. Mainly because the audience is primarily male, it's more "shocking" when bad things happen to a female and produces more of an emotional reaction. A guy getting killed is basically "expected." (Additionally, male characters are far more likely to get resurrected quickly than females, particularly if the female is a supporting character). Unfortunately these deaths rarely advance stories in meaningful ways. |

Could be worse. He could have let the cat out of the bag that Damon Wayans is making a cameo as Homey D. Clown.
He could have also mentioned that Jim Carey will be in the opening scene inspecting the new Joe Headquarters as Fire Marshall Bill. "Let me show you something!" |
