Exactly. “I’ll wait for TJ Max or Ross” “I’m passing on this perfectly good figure because it’s not a direct regurgitation of the vintage one”

Fans really need to make up their mind on the blame game.
It's either "adult collectors could never support GI JOE by themselves, it has to appeal to kids again (something something collectors will have to make sacrifices*)" Or "The line failed because everyone waited for ROSS close out prices!"** *This mean, change from realistic to cartoony style or change in scale or articulation and/or theme. So many changes that why would adult fans even keep giving a crap? **It's funny because it seemed like everything after wave 2 of Retaliation seemed to go directly to close out or stores so obscure no one heard of them. Hard to support full retail when it's NOT there (or scalpers raided the one and only case the store received). GI JOE was not alone in this. Distribution is still horrible. The average person would not know Star Wars The Vintage Collection made anything past wave 1 of last year. Snokes still coke the pegs. Last edited by Sean_C; 09-16-2019 at 01:23 PM.. |

I’m against going 6” because the delightfully ludicrous collection of vehicles is an absolutely pivotal and key component of the greatness of the line to me. Stick at 4”, no bigger.
Really though, it’s all academic as Hasbro has its sights set on become a multinational media conglomerate with fingers in every pie, an old toy line is small potatoes at this point. It’s a bit like Konami and videogames - they barely care anymore as they’re raking in the cash from gyms and pachinko parlours. |

You're spot on about the mobile games, they released some half-assed mobile crapfest back in 2010 and made a fortune off it - this is where they realised they could just make that stuff quickly and cheaply instead of blowing millions trying to compete with what was expected of 'AAA' titles on the home consoles. It's rather sad, really. And they treated a lot of long time staff horribly in the process. Kojima most famously but in a way he got off lightly compared to others, who were sent off to toil in the pachinko places or clean(!) the goddamn sports clubs, presumably in an attempt to make them quit. |

I know, right? It's crazy. They run one of the Japan's major fitness chains!

It's that machine where balls or discs fall down between pegs to a collection area. Depending were it lands, you get points for that. I think it was a game on the price is right too.
