I have a Dropbox account, so if there's only going to be a handful of you guys, we can do it through that individually. You'll just have to make an account and tell me your email address so I can send you an invite.

Since the rows go by year, I didn't think it would look right to have two CC so close to each other, especially since they look so similar. Plus, there was already a second CC in 87, so I figured those two were enough.
I also had to account for getting exactly 88 characters on the poster. Somehow, it worked out between the handful of doubles, and the few vehicle drivers who had full artwork produced that I was able to include all characters from 82-87, not counting the Golobulus crap and later 87-88 battleforce stuff. And the Fridge. There were several characters like Wild Weasel who only have a crappy file card shot of their face so I couldn't use them though. Would you be willing to give some pointers/tips/secrets on how you created this (Adobe Photoshop? what fonts for the wording?) This is truly a work of art! Jason |

AH! That makes sense, especially since how the Cobras are all the last 4 in the row. This is well done! Now I think you (or someone) needs to do a Vehicle with Driver backdrop!
Would you be willing to give some pointers/tips/secrets on how you created this (Adobe Photoshop? what fonts for the wording?) This is truly a work of art! The background is from a scanned card back and all the artwork is from scanned card fronts. However, all of these were of varying quality, and brightness. So for every single character I had to tinker with the colors and contrasts, especially considering that the first couple of years' characters were much more washed-out, color-wise. The same thing goes for the larger card back writing. To make the backgrounds all somewhat uniform in color, I found the artwork which was the clearest and brightest and then using the magic wand, I re-colored many of the bomb bursts to better match one another, although I tried to keep them as faithful to their original colors as possible. This took a while. Again, the early characters were really faded. There was also the color issue between the bomb bursts vs the tech lines. The biggest problem however was the fact that most of the card fronts had parts that were obscured by the blister bubbles or by writing. To fix those I had to scan the 1987 stickers and patch in those missing parts. However, those stickers have a very poor resolution and their colors are slightly different from the card art. So if you look close, this can be seen in certain places. For example, half of Big Boa's punching bag is from the sticker scan, which you can see if you zoom in. That's probably the worst of those patch-ups though. I couldn't find the correct font, so I "created" it by simply using Arial Bold and stretching it vertically! Once I got it to look right, I simply copied that text box for the other 87 names. The only thing I wasn't happy with is Serpentor. I looked everywhere but could not find a quality scan. But at the final printed size, he doesn't look all that bad. Also, although this prints out great, the edge of my frame actually covered up most of the white border, except for the curved corners. So I would advise shrinking this poster down a hair if you want it to look more like a card back when framed.

Dude that's awesome information to have! I'm very nuanced in which characters I like that fit my "Joe Team" or "Joeverse." I think I may try to tackle a project like this for myself. Thanks again for the info.
