Would you want to see a live action G.I. Joe series as a Nostalgia set in the 80s? It doesn't matter how many new generations would be interested or not. They got lot to learn about the cool stuff of the decades like the coolest toys like G.I. Joe and Transformers. I read on the other post on this forum mentioned the idea for a G.I. Joe live action series set in the 80s which I thought it was a good idea.

Yes. There’s about 10 seasons already outlined (the marvel run).

G.I. Joe needs a live action TV web series with every Joe and Cobra to have the vintage ARAH designs and only way they can have that the show has to be set in the 80s and they also have to add the Dreadnoks. The Joe fans would be happy.

Bro, relax. We get it you’re a hardcore ‘80s G.I. Joe fan.
Seems like any & every thread involving live action G.I. Joe you post the same exact thing. I too would like some form of live action media with the Joes/Cobra in their ARAH attire. But somethings just don’t translate well on to film. Scarlett is the first one that comes to mind. Even I wouldn’t take a”movie” seriously showing a woman in a leotard with high heel boots and a crossbow. And don’t even get me started when Joe went with neon bright colors toward the end of ARAH. Even if Bumblebee ends up making a bazillion dollars, I don’t see a studio jumping on board for an ‘80s G.I.Joe. Hell even Hasbro wouldn’t when they pretty much said they’re done with ARAH.

I would enjoy that, but I feel animation would be the smarter choice. That way you could get all the looks right, and the voices and personalities would be easier because you don’t have to worry about visual similarity or action skills, and budget is less of an issue because special effects don’t add so much cost & there’s no travel.
But yeah, an 80s style world set in the 80s would be perfect. Like the good old toons, but with modern pacing and some of the deeper, longer, more character-driven stories we get these days. I think a good comp for this would be Filoni’s Clone Wars show, except that that had kind of a stylzed look to that animation, where Joe would be better if it was more a straight-up look with normal human proportions. Hasbro/Paramount need to FIRST develop a YouTube Presence for GI Joe!
Its so pathetic that they still have nothing official (that is actually worthwhile!) on YouTube - which is quickly outpacing Netflix and everything else consistently in todays "new TV age". Of course there are some awesome GI Joe fan channels on YouTube (catering the us old school vintage types) and some of them pull big numbers for what they are. Yet Hasbro/Paramount completely ignore this very profitable method of reaching an audience and marketing for new GI Joe content/product. Kids watch YouTube like crazy! They constantly watch Fortnite videos and other gaming related content. Why do you think Ninja and the like are so successful? I bet Ninja's audience are 95 percent ages 15 and under. All Hasbro has to do is collab with Ninja.. I bet if Hasbro can get 10 percent of Ninja's audience to be "into GI Joe", they would be in the black and GI Joe would be very relevant for them and we would all be happy with new stuff coming out all time. |

Would be great to see them do a show going into the history on specific items, visiting various collectors or offering previews. More importantly though, IMO, they need to make the toons available on their channel for a while. Watching those for free would seriously excite a lot of people and really build some momentum for the movie, as well as for whatever new product we get.

Why don't we send our thoughts to Paramount Pictures about what we want for G.I. Joe movie to look.
