Had a large earthquake up here in Alaska this morning. I went to the garage to check on my Joes, one of the first things I checked btw, and found Ripcord, Airborne, and Scarlet (jumper suit) had all taken a six foot nose dive off my shelf. I told my son that it was ironic that their chutes didn’t open, he just rolled his eyes. Luckily my Tomahawk stayed put. Everything else was fine, but lots of people in my neighborhood have a bunch of damaged home goods, so my family got lucky.

Glad you(and your toys) are safe. They may need sky patrol chutes in the future.

Glad you’re safe! I’m curious who packed their chutes?

Awesome that you are o.k. You got good builders in Anchorage and a eye in the sky I'm sure.

Thanks everyone, still getting lots of aftershocks, 242 of them as of 8pm last night. The governor had a good point about building codes and why they exist, there was very little catastrophic damage to buildings... our gas meter twisted and started leaking, but the base/post fire dept was there instantly and maintenance had it fixed within the hour.
Wild Bill also fell, found him under the work bench, his hat stayed on the shelf, which I thought was funny. |

glad you and your home are o.k. but lol...
my own similar experience: for christmas 1988 i got the parachute pack hit'n run. about a month later he was on a jump in the front yard, and not only did his chute fail to open but he went off the lz onto the sidewalk. lost half of a foot but managed to evade a medical retirement and fight on. at least this didn't happen: - Last edited by lsyd; 12-08-2018 at 12:34 AM.. |
