I dunno, it has a point on one hand, but on the other, who do you think is going to be there bright and early the next morning? The damn scalpers.
Many of us have jobs and cant stand outside Target at 8am waiting to RUN to the isle to grab the figure we want. I usually hit targets on my way home from work and hardly find anything.
I dont know what the right answer is, but if there is room on the pegs to stock a case, they should bring a case out. I dont think they should let anyone pick through 4-5 cases, but if they can accomodate more figures on the pegs, why not?

I have been turned away from a target as well. This target had 2 figures on it;s pegs back in the 25th line.
There were no computers to type in a DCPI number to check the stockroom, so I tracked down an associate who was more than welcome to help. She typed in the number which said there were some in the back, but she couldn't get the location to pop up. she has me follow her to Electronics where she asks for help from the guy behind the counter. As soon as he looked at her scanner I was told this..." I'm sorry.. Target no longer caters to collectors. Our policy is not to pull figures from the back until we need them stocked." I proceed to tell him that they have 2 figures on the wall and obviously need to restock..according to their scanner there are some in the back..so that fits into part of his criteria. I get "we don't stock during the day" Total BS. I see them all the time.
I left...went to a few other stores.. came back about an hour later and sure enough..l they restocked....and the figures I needed were already gone. I bet he was a collector himself and was buying them. LOL
Looking for one Danger at the Docks Exc.

No wonder I cannot find anything on the pegs. You guys are in the backroom hoarding everything!
Diogenes, one of the better known proponents of the school of Cynics, was often seen to be strolling about with a lamp in broad daylight and when asked what it was for, he would reply "I'm looking for an honest man."

I hate that policy. They won't get anything from the back for a supposed "toy collector" but someone shopping for jeans sees a full rack of jeans on the floor and not see her size can go to an employee and ask if they can go in the back and find her size and they'll do it or another woman buying bed sheets and doesn't see her pillow cases in the color she wants even though the shelves are full an employee will scan to if theres more in the back and they'll look for it to complete the sale.If they are going to enforce that kind of policy in one department of the store then they should enforce it throughout the entire store so then they can lose money.

Embarassing is a good word here, because of the people who take advantage of kindness, we get some of the run-off attitude from people. Often it's not looking down on people for collecting kids toys so much as a general dislike for those that some feel are profiting from hoarding things from kids, and probably some animosity from a guy making employees do the leg work so he can make a quick buck off of it.
If you put in terms of the Tickle Me Elmo season, which this sort of thing gets lumped in with, that literally is people scalping a toy that is meant for pre-schoolers. It's legal capitalism and all, and I personally believe that particular item was more in demand with parents who felt they needed the "hot toy," but the stores had to deal with the issue of customers calling non stop every day, and it is pretty ridiculous that scalpers have helped lead to a purchAse limit on a muppet.

I say you should contact target corporate and find out for sure that way if there is no such policy then you can have the e-mail handy to show to the store manager. Last i checked we are customers, not just collectors, who want to buy this stuff and the scanner is there to let customers know what the have and if they have more in stock

They did this to me with the Ultimate Battle Pack and ROTF Superion. So now I just don't bother asking anymore. If they don't want my money I'll spend it elsewhere and that's what i did.

Yeah....Sadly, they've pulled that one on me, as well. They've done it to me at Walmart too. My next trip to Target, I'll be wearing a red polo and khakis...Anyone know where to get a blue Walmart-type vest? lol

In my area not only will they not go into the stockroom, but they will not stock the toy shelves at any time if a "Collector" is hanging out near the aisle. That's right, I have personally seen them stop putting toys on the shelves and take the toys to the back room if "anyone" approaches them. It's one of the dumbest damn things I have ever seen in my life.
Worse yet - when clone wars came out they interpreted thier policy as you can only buy two 3.75 inch figures not you can only buy a limit of two per character. I had over 400.00 worth of SINGLE QUANTITY Items and they told me I could not buy them. I told them where to put thier merchandise and went directly to Walmart where I spent the money (and got everything I wanted same day) Then....I went back to the Target manager and showed here my Walmart receipt and explained to her that some one was getting my money and it wasn't her store...ever again.
Target go go......KICK ROCKS!
