Simple question, why do we have such inconsistencies? Or, maybe the better question is, what was ARAH suppose to follow?
We know what he looks like from the comics, but the toys I always wondered about (ever since I busted off the red faceplate of my '91 Commander). Any thoughts? |

The old Hall of Fame 12inch CC is the best example of him unmasked(the star brigade figure also has the same style head). I know his mouth is still covered but you get idea that Hasbro's idea of the Commander is closer to the comics than the toon. You can also see from the red face plate version that he's just a guy. So, ARAH CC is an older man with black hair.

Don't forget you've got the younger CC from "Snake Eyes Declassifed" also.
I'll bust out my copy and scanner later on if I get a chance. Eric |

I always liked the long mustache and ponytail look from the comics he had up until Fred shot him. I looked on google but couldn't find a pic. Someone here shows that look as part of their signature.

But, why is there such inconsistencies is my question between the cartoon, comic, and toys? |

Here are some shots from the comics...
Starting with issue 38 during Billy's trial. Then on to the mustache pony tail look... from issue 84. (and others) He kinda looks like Wild Bill, haha. Then issue 98 when it shows the Fred clones were all supposed to look like him (and wasn't this later said to be a mistake or something?) And finally from the Devil's Due Snake Eyes Declassified. (I'm not a fan of this by the way.)

My guess as to the inconsistencies are because most of the head shots are taken from other's memories and they can be taken from the "eye of the beholder" angle.
I thought the pony tail and mustache was a disguise picked up when CC and Destro escaped the PITT collapse?

Maybe the glasses and ponytail are the real deal then? I'm thinking you could take a Buzzer, paint his hair darker and add a mustache, and you've got your unmasked CC.

I don't care much for the DD's version. And the issue #98, what is up with that? That is NOT what Cobra Commander looks like! It must've been a mistake, as it was issue 145 they showed him with the ponytail (no visible mustache) again.
But, again I ask my was the toy/comics/TV series so different from one another? |
