A direct and simple question, perhaps the answer is obvious for many but not for me so that is why I am asking.
Those two "vehicles", if you can call like that to a piece of foam, are definitely scarce, rare and very expensive. The question is: why? Cobra adder is a lot more elaborated vehicle and you still can shoot one mint in box for about 50 bucks. But why a piece of foam could not have been produced by the millions? Or was it so fragile that every children in American and the world ended destroying it? Could you enlighten me please? Thanks in advance for your time. |

I think it's just that scarce because it was A) just a cheap peice of Foam that was easily broken or thrown away and B) It was probably not as produced as much as a lot of the latter vehicles.

Most kids didn't keep these in the box either, they were summer toys like squirt guns. Played with three months of the year (gasp) outside. I would add that these were also the first of the repaints and back then, some kids like myself already had Grunt and so there was no appeal to get a second one. Same with the Viper. I distinctly remember a trip where I went home with a Polar Battle bear with my allowance money instead of the gliders for that very reason. Same with Silver pads Grand Slam. I had a JUMP, I had Grand Slam. Catalog exclusives, the same thing, had Cobra Commander, didn't need a cardboard set that he came with. Collecting armies like stormtroopers was not something kids in my area did either. Mostly however I think it was that these were outdoor toys and very fragile.
