Just a slight rant and a question. Has anyone ever heard of a Target 'collectibles' policy? I've seen nothing posted, on the website on in the store re: this policy. Target employees out there? Does this exist?
Background: Had dinner with the fam. After that, hit Target to go PP Snake Eyes and Helix hunting. I heard this particular Target got that wave. Nothing of consequence on the shelves, except for ice vipers and CC. Grabbed a figure and walked to the scanner. In stockroom: Yes. YES! Talked to nearest Target associate and asked if they could bring a few out. She said sure. I wait 10 minutes or so. She comes back and tells me that since it's a collectible and they currently have more on the pegs (which weren't full, btw), they can't allow me to rummage through the new cases so other Target guests can have a chance to get them. WTF? So I'm not a Target guest? So she tells me to come back tomorrow after they have restocked for the night. WTF again. I live 30 mins from there... If there is some kind of collectible policy, they should post it. I'm sure I'll be able to get what I'm looking for from other sources, but I'm just irritated at this whole thing. Made me feel less important as a 'Target guest'. Walmart never has any problems with this sort of thing and the employees actually appreciate it because I help them stock it after I'm done looking through it, even if I don't buy anything. Sorry for the rant. Discuss? (Flame-Suit on just in case)

I've seen it posted both in the toy aisle and at the service desk in the front. Not constantly but usually around big releases or Christmas.

DJ Crush: Thanks for the info.
Mods, please move to Gen discussion or just let the thread die. Now I know, so I got half the battle done. Right? Right?

And different Target stores enforce the stupid collectible policy however they see fit, i.e. some stores don't care who buys what and how many of them while other stores are strict on it. Lame.

Is a hit or miss man. Sometime they help you out and sometimes they don't!

I work for a pretty big company who's whole being is it's customer service. Basicly I spend 8 hour of my day doing what I can to make people happy. So, when I get off work and go on a Joe hunt, I kinda expect to be treated the same way. Hi, I want to give you my money for your products, but if you don't want my money that's cool because I'm sure someone does want my money!
I experienced something almost the same as above mentioned story. If it is in the store, either on peg or in back I should be able to buy. And No, I don't re-sell them. I take them out of there package (which is a sin to must,) put them in a pose on my selves. If I'am lucky I get to geek out with my nephew and we have a blast for hours on. It is sad that that the one place you can always find Joes has D.Bag employees enforce a gay policy! What are we gonna do? |

Yes there is a rule but I have never seen them enforce it.
Wish you luck finding what you are looking for.

It depends on the store, some stores have signs posted in the toy aisles, around here some don't.
I've not had an issue, which is probably because they are being discriminatory against guys in general. I sent my male friend to pick something up at a store, and they told him "They don't cater to collectors" I called a couple hours later bitching to high hell about my hypothetical 4 year old and they apologized profusely said there store had no such policy and that they would reprimand the employee. So it all depends on the store, and sometimes, whos asking for the toy in question.

it all depends on the item in question.the targets around enforce their policy on the star wars and transformer lines because they don't sell as well as some of the other action figure lines.it's a hit and miss policy so don't take it personal.
