Do you consider vintage knock-offs that also used the o-ring system as part of the pool of pieces that can be used to create new o-ring custom figures?

The poll question doesn't exactly match the question in your post. I think the 80's The Corps! figures have become iconic enough to mix in with the 80's o-ring Joes (Love Junkyard & Billie Boomerang). However, while you could mix the figures as-a-whole in with the Joe squad, I would not try to mix their parts with Joe parts for customs.

When I had my original o-ring collection, I considered any figure using parts from G.I. Joes and those connected as part of the G.I. joe universe. That included the second wave of the Bronze Bombers (these used vehicle driver molds), movie edition Street Fighters, and the Mortal Kombat figures from around 1995. There's also a number of knock offs from France and China that used Joe molds and were articulated more or less the same.

No, I would never taint my Joe collection with knock off parts or figures. Reproductions of Joe stuff is fine, but the Corps figures were inferior in every way.
