I was suckered back into toys in 2000 with the ARAHC and it's now been 10 years since the 25th...WT-literal-F! I've been playing longer with this shit as an adult than as a kid! Think about that for a minute...
Anyway, how long for you? This is nostalgia time for the recent past! Because, you know, that's what it's all about. |

I was 13 in '94 and was not ready for Joe to end. I continued to play with my childhood joes and was in TRU for a cousins Bday in '99 and found some left over 97-98 joes. Went home, hopped on the internet to find out more about them. I was sad to learn they had missed out but fortunately I didn't have to wait long before the 2000 line came out. I was going to stop buying new stuff when they changed the design for the 25th figures but when I had that first 5 pack in my hands that went out the window.

I quit Joe's in 1990. I think the last to I purchased was a bartman. I was 13 and a little embarrassed to be buying a toy. I came back to toys in 1996 with star Wars pots2 and collected them till 2002. I also got some of the new era sculpt Joe's and the cobra trooper set from toys r us. Then nothing really, I though I was done again... till the 25th line in 2007. Now I find myself back at star Wars with the 6" figures.

I first started playing with Joes in 1985. And stopped in 1990. That's only 5 years. When the 25th anniversary figures came out in 2007 I got back in. Now realizing I've been playing with Joes as an adult twice long compared to when I was a kid!!! LOL!

I played with them late 80's to early 90's.
Then sold all my toys to buy a bike and lost all interest in joes. Then in 07 when that 25th 5 pack came out...

Got back in at end of '05, and yes: 12 years is longer than '82-'91.

I don't think I have ever stopped buying joes. When Arah ended in 94 I tried Sgt Savage but couldn't get into the out of scale figures. Luckily most of the vintage line was still readily available at yard sales and flea markets I would also trade most of the other toylines that I got for joes with friends. I picked up all the 97 tru line and agian with The classic collection. When that ended and Joes went into that wierd scuplt phase I stopped buying but jumped right back in when the started with the 2packs of oring repaints like the red and grey Alley viper and the Blue and Grey version as well as the vipers. I skipped all of the Spytroops and VvsV era aside from some cool vehicles like the Night attack Chopper and the Crimson Guard Copter. I wasn't all that excited for the 25th style at 1st but loved the Original style card art. By the time Roc hit I was really into the sculpts and bought all that I could and continued that right through to the 50th line. I have steadily bought Vintage Joes where and when ever I found them.

Same. There hasn't been a time where I've stopped collecting. Have been involved in the online side of things since the old yahoo message board and mailing list days. First show as a collector was back in 94 on the USS Intrepid. Or, at least I think it was 94. I'm old. |

So as a kid, I got my first Joe in 1986 and stopped collecting in 1992 (although I did take about a week break from collecting basketball cards a few years later and somehow picks up a 1994 firefly.) I sold all my joes in 1996, but almost got roped back in by the 1997 RAH repaints. So about 6 years as a kid.
I got back into collecting with the JVC 2-packs in 2000 and have been collecting ever since (17 years). Even with no Joe plans from Hasbro next year, I don't see an end in sight because there are enough holes that I will be looking at picking up during the lull...
