I'll probably make more customs and continue buying MTF and the upcoming Hell Screamerz figures. I've never needed an official G.I. Joe on my toys. A lot of non-Hasbro product has made its way into my "Joe" motorpool and I've used MTF and customs for figures that Hasbro and the Club hadn't made yet or didn't make to my liking.
I feel a bit bad for those that refuse to get into making customs. The Club offerings are all they have to look forward to.

Customs, filling gaps in my vintage ARAH collection, restoring old ARAH vehicles.
I support 3rd party such as MTF but only for using them as custom bases for Joes. I don't have any true interest in Eagle Force except for using parts to create more Joes.

I love customizing vehicles from the True Heroes and Corps lines, and creating never before done vehicles or reimagininings. I use repro decals from Toy Hax and Rattlerpros. Lately, I've got into restoring vintage ARAH vehicles and re-applying decals on them. I'm currently working on the entire BF2K vehicle line up I acquired at this year's Joe Con. Plenty to keep us occupied, it's just how you collect and maintain your collections!

Focus more on Star Wars, Marvel, DC and my AvP stuff, but it will give me a chance to get some Joe vehicles I've been wanting for quite some time.

Personally, I'll only be collecting Marauders stuff, and am looking forward to their next Kickstarter campaign. In the past, I couldn't rationalize spending almost $40 per figure for the club exclusives, especially when they were so hit and miss. But now I spend about that for an accessorized MGR figure that I am very satisfied with articulation and sculpt-wise. It's really sad to see Hasbro hang up the brand, but I haven't been too satisfied with their handling of it for years now. I saw a lot of hope for the line during the POC era, and there's been a few great new figures introduced since then, but overall it's just kind of petered out. The Club's done a decent job of carrying the torch, and I'm sad to see it go away as well. Hopefully in the near future Hasbro will return to the brand and give it the love and attention it (and it's fans) deserve. But it seems that newer start-ups are going to continue to step in and deliver quality product in a void to collectors who are eager for such things.

I'm torn. Sure we can argue and debate that the ME had just as long as a run as the 80s ARAH and honestly how much further could hasbro and FP go. On the other , it's going to feel very empty not having that annual excitement of joe con and news on upcoming figures. I'm a big 3rd party tfs collector and I'm just not feeling the 3rd party army lines. They are just nameless generic characters and don't fit in my joe display universe.
I will focus on appreciating the time we have left with the club and focusing on filling all gaps in collecting and setting up my man cave which I look forward to sharing with you all. I will appreciate the joe sites to continue to share my joe interest and conversations on the boards

I can finally afford to pick up some long-desired ARAH products and convention exclusives I've missed. While doing so I finally can start customizing again knowing that the characters I make won't be replaced by factory releases.
Also can catch up on my other collectin (Transformer MP). |
