Ok, this can be any ONE fig, vehicle, item from ANY of the Joe lines but only one.
Yes one… I know it’s difficult but for the sake of fun and in order to evoke some serious thought…what will it be? A figure? A vehicle? What saw the most play time as a child? What line, what generation one item and NO second places or near miss…just list the one thing you love best about our beloved Joe line and tell us why. Me personally, it’s the Hiss tank. I can’t put my finger on it and for some reason I did not have one as a kid but I love the V1 Hiss. To me it’s the most unique, individual and instantly recognizable piece from the entire Joe line. In my opinion, this single item stands out to me more than any other including the many figs. There are other amazing Joe vehicles but fro some reason the Hiss is so unique, it just stands out. The Rattler, the Flagg, the Skystriker...all cool vehicles but all have a real-world (or close to real) counterpart...the Hiss is all alone in it's originality in my opinion. And for some reason I find myself trying to buy more and more of them...one just isn't enough! Last edited by smokehouse; 12-23-2007 at 05:10 PM.. |

Tiger Force Flint. He's easily my all time favorite figure. I really dig the color scheme.

The Defiant, Because it was the one gift my whole family went into together to get for me, I had many adventures with it, as a young teen I loved space and the possibility of the millitary having battles out in it's vastness just gave me plenty of battles. I had the Defiant up till Hurricane Katrina (along with all my collection) and lost it all, but it's name "Defiant" stayed in my head through the whole ordeal, I started over with everything but the memory of my collection and my Shuttle Complex will always be with me, I will always collect G.I.Joe, because here we are 25 years later, the cold war is over, our heroes have changed many times, but G.I.Joe is still here Defiant still, and God willing Defiant Always!

Killer Whale.
That sucker by now had to have at least 30 engine rebuilds in it. As a child...that was in every mission: A) it was a vehicle B) worked on land and sea C) carried a good bit of troops

My original mail away helmeted Cobra Commander. I was sooo siked when I sent away for him and when he finally showed up, he was in the thick of every battle kicking Joe butt. Thats my all time fave Joe toy.

There's so much cool stuff it's hard to choose, but I have to say the Defiant has an obscene amount of playability to it. More so than any other toy in any other toy line. Most playsets have one or two gimicks they focus on, then you toss in a few opening doors or elevators and you're done.
However the Defiant has the elevators, secret compartments, manned turrets, cockpits, moveable chairs, doors, ability to combine with itself into two different configurations and to top it all off are the small details. Like the wire that plugs into the backpack for the spacewalk tether, well the spacestation has a peg that plugs into the same hole in the backpack so the pack can be stored next to the airlock. Then there's the floors of the space station.....look on the bottom of them, they have foot pegs underneath them to simulate anti-grav! How cool is that!? |

The original GI Joe HQ/Command Center from 1983. That playset brought me more hours of play time than I could ever count

I would have to say the Rattler. With it's hovering capability (at least for me anyway), the huge weapon payload it carried, AND ability to show battle damage (!!!!!), it was at the forefront of all my Cobra attacks.

Good answers!
Truth be told had I owned the Defiant or Flagg that would probably had received my vote…I’ve never even seen on in person…:( And the Rattler is another favorite. Not quite up to the Hiss’s level in my Joe world but sweet nonetheless. It got a TON of playtime as a kid! |
