I have no interest in it at all, because I don't do the 6 inch scale, nor do many other G.I. Joe collectors. Hasbro told Bobby that for years, but he doesn't believe it. https://news.hisstank.com/2016/03/04...now-live-58346

If I allow myself to be fully cynical, I also wonder if Bobby is simply looking at profit margins to fleece the rubes with. For $0.05 more plastic you can add another $10+ markup at retail because the 6" collectors perceive it as having more value. The tooling costs are probably fairly comparable, there is very little extra material cost, and you can charge nearly twice as much because...reasons. With that said, I think the KS will fund with little trouble. Whatever 6" fandom exists, they're already primed for the scale. They're also starved of weapons and kit as well as random soldiers to pit their superheroes against. They'll be paying attention. He has the credentials of working on Hasbro's ML line which will be a draw for existing 6" collectors. Plus a fair number of Joe fans who don't collect 6" will likely chip in out of solidarity and will pimp his KS to anyone who will listen. I don't say this to disparage anyone, just to say he'll have support even from people who don't actually want his product. I think he'll do fine.

The first time was when Bobby Vala explained it on an episode of Just Another G.I. Joe Show.

100% agree on all of the above.
Zero interest in 6" figures A vocal minority keep pushing for it The Kickstarter will fund Long-term success for 6" Joes is questionable at best Much of future Joe success (6" or otherwise) will hinge on the 2020 movie Hasbro should continue to deliver 3.75/4" figures leading up to the movie, including missing ARAH characters done nicely so they fit the classic 1 color scheme but with parts and paint that doesn't look out of place with whatever new versions of Snake Eyes and movie characters they do. THAT is what will sell best to the widest audience. |

Count me in as a big fan of 6” figures, preferred over 3 ¾”. The size allows better sculpted detail, and better body part proportion to handle figure super articulation (as the Star Wars fans call it—here we just call it articulation LOL).
The only things that may be holding me back will be the price, the ability to somehow tie the IP to G.I.Joe while avoiding legal issues, and the ability to customize these figures into G.I. Joe/Cobra analogs if desired. I am sure a majority of Joe fandom and Hisstank traffic currently have zero interest in 6” at this time, which is fine and acceptable. But note that a lot of Star Wars figure fans felt the same way when the 6” Black Series was introduced. I believe the line prospered in two ways: by slowly winning over 3 ¾” collectors with better sculpted and crafted figures, and by appealing to a new and bigger buyer market of 6” superhero figure collectors established in the last 20 years by Marvel Legends, DC Universe Classics, and Masters of the Universe. It's likely Bobby V knows all this, having worked at Hasbro. Still, this would be an interesting topic for Mike and Bobby and the rest of the crew to expand on: Why a 6” Joe line will or won’t work, since the crew as a whole seems about equally split on the topic. This discussion would really help Bobby in his endeavor. As for the other 6” Kickstarter, I had assumed they were talking about this one, from the guys at TheFwoosh: https://articulated-icons.myshopify.com/ |

My only issue with a 6” Joe line is I don’t have the space. I’d rather stay with the 3 3/4”-4” size range we have and the vehicles that are scaled for that size. I’m sure there’s enough demand to warrant it. With that being said I’m still interested in seeing Bobby’s line and may be backing that project.

Thanks for confirming. The show has been great BTW. Looking forward to a show regarding final thoughts and reactions to the end of FSS figures and the club, but maybe it should wait until the store officially closes.
