Man the negatives are mounting. No new 25th figs. Movie trailers look pretty terrible. Video Game looks stupid and cheap. Please to all the happily blind devotees don't start arguing the merits of "Well at least it's Joe!" to me. I've heard all that already and I can't abide that mindset. If dog poop had a Cobra symbol stamped on it I still wouldn't buy it. Even if it was a variant.
Resolute was awesome but they're dropping the ball toywise on that one for sure. I need something to pick me back up here! The 7 packs are all I have to look forward to Joewise really. What happened? Things were on fire this time last year. I guess I should be glad I'm saving money to put toward more 1:18th goodness. |

I know you're not a fan of the movie, but the movie received much better feedback than Transformers in test screenings, for what it's worth.
The movie toys are awesome (just wait till you get the Ice Vipers and Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes in hand, I was amazed by how much I liked them). The Transformers screening thing does give me a bit of comfort. Thanks. Last edited by Cold Slither; 06-04-2009 at 01:15 PM.. |

Dude, I started a legitimate thread, with legitimate gripes. You wanna make a point, please go ahead. But if you feel the need to goad me and try to belittle me take that sh*t somewhere else. You wouldn't do it in person, so don't do it here. Internet smartass.

Hahahahahahaha!!! Internet Smartass!!! Oh wait.. that's me too! Focus people: Must make Hasbro happy or NO MORE JOES!! Which means to ME... buy what you want... screw the rest!! I would love for Hasbro to continue making the Joe line and the modern era line, but I refuse to spend money on a ton of crap that ain't worth a dime and overpriced as hell. |

let's all just pitch in and buy the rights from Hasbroke.
All of your customs are far more ample than their mass produced repaints and Wild Bills.

I really really wanted to be a fan and optimistic about the movie. I'm not a hater like some of the "if it's not '80s canon, it sucks". But it just looks rotten. Like to the point when I see the trailer with non-Joe loving friends I feel silly and kinda embarrassed.
The Transformers screening thing does give me a bit of comfort. Thanks. i make it known dont get my gi joe mixed up wit' this movie shit when you see the movie. that aint what i spent my lootcakes on, i spent my duckets on plastic full of classic!! classics will stand the test of time, like metallicas' ride the lightning.. this will be a candy coated pop song that slips away unoticed an then becomes forgotten like crystal pepsi. an only remembered when brought up to be made fun of like zima.... |

Things were on fire this time last year. I guess I should be glad I'm saving money to put toward more 1:18th goodness. Man the positives are mounting. New 25th 7 pack figs. Movie trailers look don’t look terrible. Video Game looks fun and entertaining. Please to all the happily blind “if it ain’t a direct translation from the 1980’s” devotees don't start arguing the merits of "Well it ain’t Joe!" to me. I've heard all that already and I can't abide that mindset. If dog poop had a Cobra symbol stamped on it I still wouldn't buy it—unless it was dog poop from the 80’s. Especially if it was a variant. Resolute was awesome and I can hardly wait, toywise, for the new two pack figures. The 7 packs and the massive new movie line are what I am looking forward to Joewise really. What happened? Things were on fire this time last year. I mean really, will an enormous JOE selection at every Wal-Mart, Target and Toys R US this summer be enough? What a great time to be a fan! I guess I should be glad I'm saving money to put toward more Joe goodness

I don't know I still see that the movie is going to be good looks like a lots of good action backed up by research into new military tech. Stephen Sommers I think is the right director for the film as he is shown that he can work with a large cast of character and make them seem like a team both the good guys and bad guys. All the new toys where getting, while have big gun or missile launchers, also seem to come with smaller weapons version. The figures seem to have great detail and improved articulation as well. I do admit the the vehicles are so/so but a few like the gun-ship are interesting and wouldn't take much mod it to get rid of the missile launchers.
I do disagree with out about the game as well especially after see the previews on the front page. game play look great and there seem to be a great many tributes to the classic line too. The last couple of years have been really good for joe fans and 2009 is shaping to to be good too. the only grip is Walmart has relay drop the ball on keep up there stock of Joes. I can't blame Hasbro for that.
