in this shot, you see how they extended the turret at the back, the missile rack and antenna are missing though, as my missile rack got broke and the antenna went AWOL years back, as many did. |

The Action Force Troop Carrier is so much better than the U.S. version. I love the fact that they have a computer console and medical bay. I would love to have one to customize if I could ever find one at a cheap price.

I saw this article about weird body armour in the late '50's: What the Hell Is This Weird 1958 Body Armor? | War Is Boring
I took one look and immediately thought of S.N.A.K.E. armour: YOJOE.COM | S.N.A.K.E. Without, of course, the brain scanning stuff . . . ! |

The Outpost Defender: in both the '86 version (YOJOE.COM | Outpost Defender) and the 09 version (YOJOE.COM | Outpost Defender) the machine gun is listed as being 14.7mm. That doesn't exist, but that metric measurement is also peculiar to Soviet/Russian weapons (either the 12.7mm machine gun, basically the equivalent to a .50 cal; and the 14.5mm KPV, which is a beast of an HMG: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KPV_heavy_machine_gun). I like the idea of Joe putting some foreign weapons to use. They don't have an AA mount, but it would still be a devastating weapon from that kind of defensive position.

The Mobile Missile System (YOJOE.COM | MMS) is clearly a set of Hawk missiles (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIM-23_Hawk). Was than inside joke selling it with the figure Hawk?
But the Blueprints call the missiles "Patriot" missiles. That's kind of interesting, as the Patriot was one of the "big 5" (https://www.army.mil/article/86839/a..._vital_to_army) systems introduced into the US Army in the 80's, along with the Abrams, Bradley, Apache and Blackhawk. But it didn't become a household name until Desert Storm. Someone at Hasbro was keeping up on technical literature! |

The Bivouac (YOJOE.COM | Bivouac) comes with a missile launcher. The blueprints refer to it as an XM-65 launcher. That was the designation for the TOW missile launcher on HueyCobra gunship helicopters (https://www.army.mil/article/181893/...les_in_vietnam). The blueprints go on to say that the projectile has a caliber of 98mm, which is too small to be a TOW (and I don't think matches any missile), so that's likely just a random number.
The Bivouac is part of an anti-tank defensive system, ready to be manned by Zap or Crank Case, but of whom are qualified expert with TOW (curiously, neither Cover Girl nor Bazooka have that qual). |
