Ok heres a good topic. Share some of your biggest mistakes you have made with you joes that you will never live down! I will start with 2 stories, 1 new and 1 old.
At KB toys around Christmas time, looking for the last few figures in the Star Wars TAC line. I came across about 4 snake Eyes and timbers. I vividly remember looking at them and saying to myself "hey this one has a black timber, must be a variant" Then i put them on the pegs and told my wife "well i cant collect everything" woooooopppppsssss!!!! Later when i get heavy into the 25th line around wave 2 or 3 i paid $40 for a snake eyes and timber and about 2 months later i found 3 on the pegs!!!! haha i suck at life story number 2 involves 75% of my vintage joes and a bag of firecrackers my neighbor gave. The accounts are too gruesome, so i will let you use your imaginations to what was done with the explosives. So share some huge regrets you all have. |

Basically the same, I remember seeing wave 1 of the 25th joes at various retail centers for two weeks, and I said to myself these will soon be flooding the aisles...
I basically flushed flint and snake-eyes down the toilet...figuratively speaking |

25th wise:
Passed on Black Timber a K-Mart because I thought he looked stupid (Still do, but I wouldn't mind selling him now ) Passed on 2 yellow Stalkers at Target because I already had one and didn't need more of them (Again, wouldn't mind selling those now either) ARAH: Passed on a $10 lot of vehicle parts because I only wanted the Defiant chair in the middle of the pic. (Didn't realize until later that the rest of the parts were mostly Defiant parts I was missing at the time) |

My regrets are going to several garage sales while growing up (in that "I dont collect toys anymore" phase) and passing up on DIRT CHEAP lots of figures and vehicles.

When wave 1 first started coming out it was just a trickle around. I was not sure whether or not I would get into collecting them or not. I hated spending money on toys. I had spent so much money on Sigma Six figs, just to pass them on to my son. Any way when I first started seeing trickles it seems like all I ever saw was snake eyes and timber. I remember Finally seeing a stormshadow and Flint and deciding to get Storm Shadow because I had Snake Eyes. I saw Flint once more after that and still did not get him for some reason. Now of the first six waves Flint is the ONLY figure that I do not have. I can not bring myself to pay 50 dollars for a frickin action figure, so I will just wait for a reissue but it sucks.

Mine is pretty much the same as Reznor. I remember when I was 16 (in the early 90's) and I had my new driver's license and I would go out on Saturday mornings to check out garage sales, looking for Joes after not having been collecting them since I was 12 or so and I got a nostalgic bug as I realized I wasn't a kid anymore.
So, I went around to a few garage sales and I bought a few vehicles like a H.A.L. for 25 cents and a couple other vehicles and some figures like Airtight for 50 cents. But then after I found all of that, I had trouble one Saturday and didn't find anything so I pretty much gave up and stopped looking. I wish I hadn't given up so easily, because I KNOW I would've found dirt cheap deals on possibly Flagg's, Terrordromes, HQ's, and tons of figs and vehicles. I'm positive I would've found those if I hadn't just given up so damn easy. I'm kicking myself still today for not being more tenacious and making sure I went to more garage sales in that golden era of dirt cheap Joe deals. EDIT: Oh, and recently on ebay I saw a 1986 Hawk MOC Buy-it-now for 20 bucks, and I passed it up because I had been spending a lot on Joes that week.

Then,
Well my Sears exclusive Dreadnok Ground and Air Assault sets are completely screwed. Parts were cut off, glued back on and others were just melted. Ah my earliest customizing days, what a waste. Luckily I still have them, I look at them everyday in disgust. Now, Recently I missed an auction, I had been watching for a week, that had the remaining Terror Drome Parts I'm missing because I was outside playing beer pong. |

Beer pongs not a total waste. I did the same thing though, i waited 10 days for an auction, fell asleep with 10 minutes left. Woke up 35 seconds after it ended. |

The biggest?
It's a big one. Probably the biggest in all of Joedom. I don't wanna talk about it right now. When I do, you guys' heads are gonna explode.
