I always thought being called a Yank was kind of in good-natured fun (likewise for Brits or Scotts). Guess it just depends on the person.

I call 'em tissues and xacto knives. Box cutters I see as more rigid. I'm not sure that I have a name for the snap off blades.

I just use an exacto knife or a box cutter and cut along the bottom edge of the bubble close to the card. I only cut the sides and the bottom leaving the top attached as a hinge. that way I can take the figure out if I want, and still be able to put it back in and close the bubble and hang it up. The reason for the post was to ask people if they had any other tips for removing the bubble from the card with minimal damage to keep the card intact. I've always wanted to get an exacto or hobby knife, but I fear that I will cut myself, or someone else will end up cutting me with it. LOL |

when the dreadnoks aren't available i use "FOLDING LOCK-BACK UTILITY KNIFE". craftsman and husky makes them. they are a lot better for your hand as they have more handle(gripped)to hold onto which provides better stability and less carpul tunnel. i use this knive all day long and at home when i tool with my toys. the craftsmen is about $10 and it has a lifetime guarantee. it uses normal razor-blades and it folds up and can clip to your pocket. i had one run over with a forklift and it didn't phase it. the exato is thin, cylindrical, and slippery. it's good for fine detail on customs but i still prefer this knive over any other. it's good in street fights too.

I was contemplating whether or not I should open them up. What else am I going to do with them? Spend lots of money on buying them just to keep them in the package then put them away in a box at some point?
I think I'll have to grab my xacto knife out and let them free! (without wrecking the cards of course!) |

well the only real reason to cut them open is to keep he art. but if hasbro would just release more of the art we wouldnt have this problem we would just make our own cards.
BUT then you would get guys making custom fakes and passing them off as the real deal so just like everything else you have your good side and your bad side. i love to get my hand on the air trooper and the ig destro art. by the way i use a box cutter because my xacto is still packed up |
