If I get all waves at $500, and you get them for $400. I'd be upset. And vice versa. As a matter of fact I'm like that with all things. At times I'll spend hours online trying to save money when I could have bought the item two hours ago at another vender for 3 dollars more. (It could have been a $300 car part) Its a flaw of mine. As a youngster, I thought I was cool for spending more on 'things'. Anyone who thinks spending more is wrong. In all cases. Last edited by performula; 01-17-2008 at 10:30 AM.. |

I really love the 25th figures, but $10 each? No, I don't think so.
As I've gotten older I'm finding it harder and harder to justify the cost of toys, particularly when that cost is double the retail price. I've started to take a minimalist approach to toy collecting. I hunt maybe once a week, and that's only if the area reports look positive and I have other reasons to go to those stores (needing milk, bread, etc). Even then, I'll only hit one or two stores. I figure that if I can't find it at retail, I don't need it. And if I have to hunt constantly for it, I don't need it. The days of hunting rares and variants and sweating the completion of my collection are over. It's just such a hassle that's it's hardly worth the cost. If stores aren't willing to stock these in decent quantities and toy makers don't pack the cases in decent ratios, it's thier loss not mine. There's plenty of other things I can spend my money on. |

It's tough to find in retail because of the demand and the scalpers. So, since I like collecting these, I purchase them online. I hate to pay more though.

I preorder everything through BBTS, I paid $60 for yellow stalker and $30 for the convention destros. I also bought a big lot of Joes just to get the dark hooded CC. Other than those examples I get a lot of my variants throught this forum.
I dont have a problem paying extra for something I really want or cant find. All my joes are in starcases and will be giving to my son many years down the road. |

I'll pay that much for a figure because it would probably cost that much in gas to drive to the stores enough to find them, but also because I really hate spending any amount of time in Wal-marts surrounded by wheezing fat people in sweatpants leaning on their carts because it's too hard to stand upright.
