I always thought that the members of the Gi Joe team got paid a lot. But then I read Shockblasts filecard and upon reading this it got me thinking.
How much do Joes get paid for defending the world from Cobra?

well seeing as how they are a special operations designated force their pay would be higher than normal soldiers...fluctuating on rank. the hazard pay is where the real cheese would be tho...

But I know that police officers (Shockblast) get paid a lot, but how come Gi Joe doesn't pay high too?

It always seemed they didnt have any immediate family and no real place to call home except the Joe headquarters. I think they wanted to kill Cobras no matter how much they got paid. As for a number, who knows. Are we talking 80's salaries or current?

Military Pay Tables
Far as I know, Spec Ops don't get paid any different according to pay scale. They do get allowances based on combat zone pay, family separation pay, BAH, etc. This is where they start making more. But they don't make more based on pay grade. Any REAL ex-special forces guys out there want to correct me?

well in alot of special forces you have to be a certain rank to even apply...like e-4 thru e-7. which for a regular enlisted man is something like $2k a month...and thats just for an e-4. but that fluctuates with years or service and dependents and such....like i said the combat pay is where the real cheddar is for special ops dudes.

So the Joes are always considered "in the combat zone". Even though they don't have families, I think they'd get some version of "seperation pay", in their case it would be "seperation from the ability to have a normal life" since they are Joes 24/7.

Well, since GI Joe is now an international force, I'd say the US military pay scale no longer applies. I guess that means they're as overpaid and useless as anyone else who works for an international organization.

Also the Joes have no bills. They make the money but they don't spend anything. All their needs are paid for. They spend no money whatsoever.
So all that pay is just sitting in the bank collecting interest. So when they "retire" they get all that plus their pension and such. So even at 2k a month, 12 months, that's 24,000 just sitting there collecting interest. Saw twice that with all the other pay added in, 48,000 just sitting in the bank collecting interest. Even at low interest, it'll probably be around 50k yearly. 50k just sitting there. 5 years with the Joes. 250k.
