wow thanks zuludelta and tomax1138.
if i had to guess i'd say maybe a combination of both your ideas are the answer. the mirror image thing never occurred to me (so of course the whole hungarian/polish immigrant thing wasn't something I was considering either...heheheheheh)

Just for standardization's sake on the filecards, so that they follow the whole "Code Name: File Name:" format. There are a number of characters whose "code names" are either their real names or aliases meant to simulate real names. Besides the Crimson Guard twins, off the top of my head, the ones I can think of are Major Bludd, Zartan, Zandar, Zarana, Destro, Storm-Shadow.

The dude that did the writeup must have been the G.I. Joe fan.
Check out the comments: Tomax says: April 13th, 2009 at 10:34 pm | P.S. I like the names You’re going to have to explain it later for sure! ------------------- makes me think he doesn't know where the names are from, then Tomax says: April 14th, 2009 at 7:33 am | I just found a funny video too…someone made a Crimson Twins Rap! LOL Recognize Mother F*&4er! ------------------- makes me think he then searched the names and found the crimson twins rap, put two and two together when he figured out the names and his friend must have called them that due to their red hair. But I like the last comment the best, lol: Tommy says: April 16th, 2009 at 11:58 am | Awesome write up. I couldn’t even see their scars!

Not that I would do that to my kids, but it is kind of cool.

Who's to say that Tomax and Xamot are their real names. They could be Dick and Bob for all we know. They could have chosen the names to show-off their "twinness" and to use for their underworld business dealings.

By the comments I'd guess those aren't their real names, I'm betting the guy doing the writeup chose to use those names to mask their real names online.
