When others made me "grow up."
But I never lost interest in GI Joe. I kept it secret. I collected the comics, kept my lonesome Alpine figure in a box in my closet. Pulled him out when I got depressed. The Rhino VHS and DVDs got me back into it, out in the open.

I started losing interest in getting new toys by '85. I still played with them a little bit, but my friends had all stopped by then (and had blown their toys to pieces with firecrackers or burned them). I still collected comics until '86 or '87.

slowed down about 87, and then stopped around 89. I just didn't get GI joe anymore with all their wacky paint and funky weapons.

For me it was between 1995 and 1996 when gi joe consisted of Extreme and sgt. savage as well as Manimals..sweet mother that was some terrible stuff. I Promptly started collecting heavily again in 1997 when my wife bought me the entire tru exclusive 15th anniversary line for christmas

I never lost interesest, but I stopped collecting when the Twins came out, they were the last figures I bought, cuz I was told by a uncle, I was "too old" for toys(I think I was about 12 or 13). But once I was a adult and Star Wars came back in 1995, that also fueled my Joe passion again as well.

as I recalled, after 1988, all the figures were too futuristics. Beside, that was my first year of highschool and you could not talked to your friends that you were still playing toys. it's a teenager things.

Last stuff I got was in 1990. I was still getting some toys then, I think, but I kind of drifted away from GI Joe. I think I was starting to get into computer games around then, too.
