After having read gi joe comic issue 30, i am wondering if we could get an updated set of the plague squad. I like how they made them the best of existing cobra branches like, saw, range, and laser vipers as well as night creeper leader and interrogator. These would make a great store exclusive set. There are more than six of them though, i wonder if the set of 10 that was recently reported at k-mart could be a set of 10 plague troopers. I wonder how many would be interested in this set?

I voted Yes. I would love a "true to form" Plague Set as depicted in Ish 30.
I have 8 Custom Plague Troopers right now that accompany the original 3. 9 are troopers, whereas 2 are driver/pilot for their custom transport. |

If dd is going to keep the comic license, these plague troopers definitly need further run, i love the black saw viper. Also the storm shadow costum in the book is very similar to the ninja force storm shadow costume. I have always hoped we could get that outfit from the existing storm shadow mold. I mean heck from what i see we will be getting at least two more storm shadows this year what with the ripped shirt storm shadow and the no shirt storm shadow in the firefly two pack. we definitly need the ninja force suit storm shadow. Back on topic the plague troops seem more along the vein of the joe team, the best of the best, instead of millions of faceless legions that are typically badly trained. Awesome concept. I can't figure for the life of me who the secret spy inside cobra that is providing storm shadow with top secret info. anyone have any guesses?

I'm guessing you say nope Gunslingr because you don't want a Plague Trooper set to supercede more classic Joes? Honestly, with as much product as Hasbro cranks out each year, I doubt one set of Plague Troopers would matter much.
If that was not your intent with your "nope"...well... Me, I'm all for it! I thought the uniforms for the Plague Troopers themselves, sans Guillotine, was uninspired and basically crap. However, Guillotine I feel holds his own against any current or vintage Joe. And that you can print! Anyway, I would love to see the Troopers redone and updated with a more modern sensibility. |

you do realize the new "rendition" of the plague has all of them but guillotine in redeco versions of classic cobra figures such as saw and range viper and night creeper? i am not referring to the plague troopers that were released a year or two ago

I like the idea, and what about this K-mart 10 pack, only have 2 Kmarts left in this area, and they are pretty much bottom of the barrel on toys.

I would buy them, just the idea alone is awesome, hand picked troops who are the best of the best of Cobra's various Vipers put together into an elite squad, and they keep GI Joe on the run, sweet. It's ashame The Plague got introduced at the end of DDP's run. Seeing as how the next comic we get is most likely going to be a reboot, I quess we'll never know what DDP had in store for them.
