Did 6 years in the USAF from '91 to '97 in munitions (see my avatar and tag line). I think the big factors in my joining were... My Dad, Grandfather and Uncle served (Army, Army Air Corps, and Army respectively), my brother was going in the USAF as an officer (ROTC with a regular commission - he's putting on 0-6 this year), Joes, and the fact I ran out of money for college and needed to "do something" with my life. I signed up for the GI Bill, but was too stupid and never used it. The experience was great though. Got to see more of the US as well as Japan, Korea and 2 trips to Saudi Arabia (3 months each). I did assemble munitions that were dropped in Iraq and have a weird feeling about the fact I helped to kill people. But I just keep thinking about the cause and that helps.
Thanks to my military bretheren and even to those who support them. You have my respect. To those who do not support the military, don't feel like we are telling you that you are wrong. Those in the military, past and pesent, fought so you could have the right to that opinion. We may not agree with it, but this is America. Keep your opinion and let no one take it from you. Yo Joe!

I served 4 1/2 years in the Marines and it was the best and worst decision I ever made. I have always loved G.I. Joe and sometimes I feel that is what led me to serve. I have ben collecting for years and I would just tell you to know what you are getting into. When the 25th came out, it was like crack. I was addicted and couldn't stop.

Hah back when I was 17 I went to do the DEP (Delayed Entry Program), recruiter took me to MEPS, did that whole rigmarole.. and at the end they offered me two jobs. 71D.. and... wait for it, 57E.
Look them up if you want to know why I said no thanks. Apparently they said I was black/white colorblind. Even though I am pretty sure I can see color. Anyway, that was 1997, and I've moved on, but still a little hurt I guess!
