Let's see what the community thinks before the movie comes out.

I find blatantly displayed movie spoilers somewhat annoying (especially if they reveal plot points that are being utilized in a film for suprise/shock value). I was slightly ticked off when the initial character deaths were posted on this site's front page (both in the "front page proper" and in the recently active threads sidebar), but I got over it pretty quickly.
The thing about movie spoilers is that they're largely unavoidable, especially if you visit a variety of fan sites/entertainment sites and message boards. I've just learned to take them as part and parcel of the internet. Last edited by zuludelta; 04-25-2009 at 08:26 PM.. |

Umm, there's already movie "spoilers" on the front page, have been for months. No one's gotten mad that they found out who would be in the movie, what vehicles were used in the movie, what characters looked like in the movie. All of these are "spoilers"
Seems most people just get mad at what they find out, not the fact that they found out any of these "spoliers" |

What I wouldn't want to see displayed on the front page is information contained within the film whose early revelation would detract from the movie-watching experience (like plot twists and such). Granted, a movie that can be "ruined" by the premature revelation of a plot point or two probably isn't that strong of a narrative in the first place, but I like movie plots to be revealed to me within the frame and timeline of the movie, and not on a fan-site. I have never been botherd by spoilers. I have read many spoilers and still went watch the movie and was just as entertained. If I see "Spoiler Alert" and I dont want to know before hand whats going on in a movie I dont read it.

I was kinda ticked to see a RIP Major Bludd posted on the front page... Not having the greatest internet connection I was eagerly waiting to watch the whole series later tonight. But what can you do?

I think spoilers are justified on a Joe website. What else is there to talk about, really? I've not seen Resolute yet, but my DVR is set for tonight. I think letting someone know there are spoilers involved in their thread is a simple courtesy since Resolute and ROC aren't the only things that are going on in the Joe universe, but after that it's up to the individual. It's like telling a kid that the burner is hot. If you don't tell them and they burn themselves then you're a bad parent. If you do tell them and they touch it anyway, they're bad kids who likely deserved to get burnt. Sure, they should be bright enough to know that something called a burner will, ya know...burn you.

i think yes so if it is bad you can save your cash. but the topic should just say spoilers and what movie it is that is it. i know the joe movie will be bad and in not going to see it opening night so if i can know how bad it is can save me the trip or if good i can go sober lol.

i, personally, don't care, because i won't be going to see the movie. however, i think there are enough people here who are interested in seeing it spoiler free - or who may just be passing through - for the Mods and Owners of the site to know better than put spoilers blatantly on the front page, despite whatever temptation there may be to 'break' a story... since that seems to garner so much "cred" amongst those of us on the Information Superhighway.
