Just wondering what you/us Tankers do for a living/work. And second, what is your Joe budget? I am seeing these massive collections, and I wonder what we do to fund our addiction???

I'm a third shift pharmacist at a large hospital. Pulling down the big bucks, I pretty much can buy whatever I want, so I don't have a budget, so to speak, for Joes. It all depends on what strikes me as a want. One month last year, I probable spent $200-300, the next I spent zilch. It just depends on what I want, and what I'm willing to spend.

I am a Warehouse Manager at an Electric Coop. The pay ain't 6 figures but it pays the bills. Whatever is left over after the bills are paid and my wife gets her cut... I can use the rest of it for Joes!

I am an Instructor (job coach) for Mentally Retarded Adults and I am also a Nursing Student. My budget is, well, not just my budget. My partner is a Computer Engineer so together we do pretty well.
A budget number is not be something that needs to be shared. What I would like to say is this. It is not about the money you have or the amount of stuff you can buy. It is about the people you meet and the friendships you form. We as collectors buy stuff to fill a hole, so we can feel happy; or we buy stuff to impress others with the amount of junk we have. When you die, all the junk you have collected will mean nothing but the people you leave behind who care about you are priceless.

I work as the head of operations for a company that installs wireless internet, servers, and wi-fi hotspots.
My joe budget is pretty much "I buy what I want when I find it" but it's been dry here.
