My box of the 10 HoH just arrived and here are my overall first glance pass/fail grades of each figure:
1. Snake eyes V2 - Pass (though he is the same fig as the new 5 pack) 2. Firefly - Pass (Big time lots of great gear) 3. BAT - Pass (Again lot of cool gear and the battle damage head) 4. Storm Shadow - Fail (I have 2 of this figure; individual packaging and the 5 pack and they only add on is a repelling hook) 5. Beach Head - Pass (Here again tons of new gear + new head) 6. Viper - Fail (like the shiny mask but that is about it) 7. Crimson Guard - Fail (again cool shiny helmet and back pack but nothing great) 8. Flint - Fail (couple new items but nothing great) edit: also I just found out the new gear is available with the 5 pack version. 9. Zartan - Pass (barely, like the more orignal look with a good collection of masks again nothing really new accessories) 10. Snake Eyes V1 - Fail (same issue I have with the storm shadow figure + i love snake eyes but 2 figures in the HoH) Last edited by havokss22; 04-17-2009 at 04:37 PM.. |

fail.
it bothers me that there is a lack of attention to little (even big details) to this supposed premium set. like vipers forearms molded in blue and sloppily painted flesh why didnt they mold storm shadows head in white instead its painted and looks worse for it. they used flints big head from his cobra fig. and it looks out of place with all the other smaller heads. no eyesbrows on beachhead etc. big disappointment |

I like the HOH set. Very attractive packaging and new improvements to some of the figures. The price was a little high for these, but overall no complaints from me. I love the HOH...

I'll say they are a big, fat fail. Not unique or different enough to warrant purchasing for collectors that already have these and even more so if you are not a MOC collector.

I agree with you to some extent. But I still like the idea of Hasbro putting out their idea of what the "definitive" looks for some of the characters are.
Unfortunately, the parts they've used, from what I've seen, seem to be ill-considered and mis-matched (I mean seriously, what's the deal with pairing the 25th Anniversary Snake-Eyes' laced boot feet with the lower legs from the DVD Battles Set 4 Snake-Eyes?). I was telling a fellow tanker last week that the Hall of Heroes toys seems to be Hasbro's way of making some money off of excess 25th Anniversary/Modern parts inventory (and aren't really "definitive" interpretations at all), now that they're focusing on movie-related product for most of this year and the next.
