I wrestle with depression and honestly buying Joes in one of the few things that make me happy! Sometimes I want to sell it all! Sometimes I just want to donate it. Should I go before I do either of these things I want them donated. My wife just seems concerned with my watches and my brothers and nephews would just want my bikes and cars so Im guessing noone would give two craps about my beloved Joes!

You know dude coming from someone that knows. I dont know exactly what your going through but I went through my own stuff for years. I started dealing with ocd when I was in middle school. Just popped up one day and it got worse over a couple months. I didnt know what it was and then after reading up on it I decided to get help. Almost was too late cause by the time I decided to the ocd led into anxiety and I later was diagnosed with ocd, SAD (social anxiety disorder) "mild" bipolar I (not sure if it has classifications anymore though), and chronic depression. I attempted suicide twice and used to be a cutter. I thought stuff would never get better and that there was no way out but to take myself out of the equation. Dude speaking from experience it is not the only way out. I am married now and have a beautiful two year old daughter. Stuff is still hard a lot of the time but I have learned ways to deal with it that are positive. I will admit I still think about suicide and cutting sometimes but I stop thinking about it when I think about what it will do to the people I love, etc. Things always get better. I dont know what your thinking or how your feeling if you are thinking about something right now but I will tell you the night is darker right before the dawn and it will get better. Dont do anything man just hang in there and keep your head up. When you suffer everyday with ocd,etc it feels like every day is a battle, every month a war, and every year a campaighn. Its worth fighting though.

I've been wondering who would get my Joes if something were to just happen to me. I don't have kids or nephews which means they would either go just go to my brother or my sister, perhaps my mom would pack them up in the garage, but it's not likely my family would keep them nice. I'd like them to go to nice people or places or get the love I've given them over the decades. I've been overwhelmed with very depressing OCD in my life which is it's own problem but I just want to know my Joes to end up where they'll be loved.

it's good to see so many tankers helping tankers in this thread. great bunch we got here.
As for passing on my Joes after I'm dead. I've left orders that they are to all be burned and scattered with my ashes. |

My wife has been instructed to sell what she can, she actually keeps up on their current market value.

It's never been important to me what happens to my GI Joe and Cobra action figures after I'm gone from either old age, accident, or medical condition the doctors missed. If my quests for immortality fail then all my worldly problems go with me.
If some relatives want to hold on to something from my collection to remember me by that's fine. If they know some children who would want them that's fine as well. If they want to go crazy and sell the whole lot because the money will make their lives a little easier that's fine as well. |
