Don't the newer boxes now have something written on the inside indicating what sort of box it is?

Yes I COULD, but why would I want to drive into town and pay for a box, when I can use a FREE one that I already have?

I have never bought a box.
If you want to ship using Priority, you can order Priority boxes from USPS and they ship them FREE to your house. If you want to use parcel post, you can usually get boxes at most stores when they are putting out new stock. Grocery stores and Wal Mart are good, as are any drug stores, etc. If you are near an Office Depot or Office Max (or similar store) they often have a lot of small, lightweight boxes.

Cut up some brown grocery bags to cover the box up and ship it Parcel Post for extra savings instead of Priority Mail.

Personally, I've given up trying to use Priority boxes for anything other than what they are marked for. I've had a few run ins with well trained postal employees who have called me out on mis-using boxes and even the priority sticker labels they used to have. I just save most of the boxes I get stuff in and reuse those.
Look at it like this, USPS gives us these boxes for free so that we will use those particular services. With us reusing the boxes in a cheaper shipping method, we are basically stealing. This is no different than repacking a figure and returning it to the store. In both cases, people are circumventing the rules in order to get something cheaper. |

I get 80% of my boxes from usps.com.They are all priority or flat rate. But they are FREE!Flip them or paper them.If you dont want to buy the paper just use a paper sack from the store. So next time they say paper or plastic, say paper.

I see your point, but the PO is set up to try to get people to use Priority Mail against their will to increase revenue.
Example: I was at the PO and a woman came in with a package she wanted to send by parcel post. She asked for a small piece of tape to secure a flap or something. They told her they weren't allowed to give her plain tape - they could only give her tape with the logo printed on it. After she attached the tape, they told her the price of sending the item was now higher because they would only send it via Priority because it had the tape on it. I almost always use first class or parcel post. I don't misuse Priority boxes for those-I get smaller boxes from work or from stores. But I don't think you can equate someone who ships in inside-out Priority boxes with the guy who effectively lost me $30 by repacking a set from KB with a different figure and gear.
