The 25th line is a dead line. It has an end. Someday, especially at the pace we were getting stuff, it would end pretty soon.
Then what would Hasbro do? No, Joe needs something new on the shelves.

I am sad but you are right, The 25th line is dieing or possibly on life support. There are still many figures that can be made but Hasbro has taken what they where going to work into future Waves and gone Internet exclusive with them. Upcoming Vehicle waves and the New 7 Packs. There will still be a few classics seeded into the modern line but nothing like 2008.

No, I meant that it's a dead line because there is only so much product to make. There's a finite amount of RAH figures and vehicles. They've already gotten a good chunk of figures done. There's only a few really popular ones left.
Would waves made of Gnawgahyde, Fast Draw, Iceberg, Raptor, Crystal Ball, Big Boa and H.E.A.T. Viper really sell that much? It'll hit a wall soon enough where it won't be cost effective for Hasbro to keep producing just to finish up making Modern Era versions of all the RAH figures/vehicles. So then that means there has to be something new to keep Joes on the shelf.

I'm thinking that the 25th line is winding down and that resolute was brought in to try and keep Joes going in some way...the only problem is we've seen and heard zip about it (except for that little clip)...it looks promising and if the webisodes turn out to be a hit and they keep putting out Res Figs than I will be happy with that

Then there is the posibility of just re-realising old vehicles like the Hydrofoil or Stun. Vehicles from 2-3 years ago. Now imagine if they actually got the WHALE or the Mamba. If Hasbro was smart they would invest in that side of the market.

I don't agree with that. There is till plenty of figs that have yet to be released as well as some that are beggin to be given the single card release ie Outback. You could also release them as the many sub groups that exist like Nightforce.

Who knows. I'd love to see Barrell Roll, Blackout and Crosshairs. But the line needs NEW. New concepts, new characters, new looks, etc.. in order to keep going for years and years to come.

They figure they can push us to the wayside for a year and then get back to business as usual after the movie is done. All they see right now are dollar signs. Proof positive is the new pit and it's price tag. The mamba =)

Then there is the posibility of just re-realising old vehicles like the Hydrofoil or Stun. Vehicles from 2-3 years ago. Now imagine if they actually got the WHALE or the Mamba. If Hasbro was smart they would invest in that side of the market. Look at Star Wars. It is one of their better selling lines, sure they make a few new figures every so often but the meat and potatoes of that line are the core figures and vehicles. Hasbro is not making toys to play Santa Clause, they are doing it for the money. While I really want a new Skystriker or a Whale I just don't see those coming out. They have molds for a few Items but many of the older molds have gotten damaged over the years and Hasbo isn't going to dump money into remolding those gems. They are already making cash by reusing already existing molds and casts, so why plunge a lot of money into making a larger item that kids today don't even know about. Lets look at a lesson from the BFG, I loved it, but I didn't buy it when it first came out. I just didn't feel $150.00 was worth it to me. The BMF got clearanced out creating a major loss to Hasbro. People will wait for a good deal and that is the bane of the toy maker, when a toy is sold on clearance the store looses money but Hasbro does as well. When we as the buyers wait for a good deal the Toy maker believes there are no markets for the large high dollar items. So they stop making them. I picked up my BMF for $68.95 on clearance, so I am just as much to blame as any other. We are our own worse enemy here. I waited as did many others and we got good deals but those good deals cut into the profits that Hasbro makes and since money is the bottom line, we may not see things like this again. So just like the BMF, a retool on a Skystriker sounds amazing until you realize Hasbro would have to sell it for around $50 to $80 retail, who is going to pay that? I don't know if i would when i could just wait around for the clearance sale. Just look at the price point for the new Raven, $39.99 and it is nothing like the original Raven. I keep hearing how Tankers are going to just wait around until the Movie line goes on clearance, they are wise in that belief, but their good deals will not make Hasbro feel any better about making more items that may just go on clearance too. I am not a doomer here. I just understand business and it is not good business to make new molds of older toys that will loose money for the company. Like I said Hasbro is not Santa and they are not in the toy business to give away stuff. Resolute may end up being the way they keep making money. We are seeing the 25th line being put on the back burner, I hate it, I feel that there is still life in the old girl but it just doesn't matter. Hasbro has shut down the 25th line letting only a trickle out now. They are pushing the Movie line and in their own words. "The Movie line will continue well into 2010". The game has changed and while I still want my Stun's and Destro's Demon I am not sure we will ever see them. Like I said I am sad but I still have hope that the GI Joe line will evolve and change thus not dieing.

And you'd get what, another 2-3 years out of that?
