There were some that were highly debated... Quote:
Good call. 2nded! Quote:
Warrant Officers are a rank between Enlisted and Commissioned Officers. They get pay and respect similar to a Commissioned Officer but not the authority. Most WOs don't command or lead anything. They're specialists that perform functions that give an officers rank without requiring an officer's training. Specifically in this case, I would think the fact that they're divers would be the reason, because they wouldn't be expected to lead troops on land.
United States Main article: Warrant Officer (United States) In the United States military, a Warrant Officer (grade W-1 to W-5) is ranked as an officer above the senior-most enlisted ranks, as well as officer cadets and candidates, but below the officer grade of O-1 (NATO: OF-1). Warrant officers are highly skilled, single-track specialty officers, and while the ranks are authorized by Congress, each branch of the Uniformed Services selects, manages, and utilizes warrant officers in slightly different ways. For appointment to Warrant Officer One (W-1), a warrant is approved by the secretary of the respective service. Chief Warrant Officers (W-2 to W-5) are commissioned by the President of the United States and take the same oath as regular commissioned officers (O-1 to O-10). Warrant officers can and do command detachments, units, activities, vessels, aircraft, and armored vehicles as well as lead, coach, train, and counsel subordinates. However, the Warrant Officer's primary task as a leader is to serve as a technical expert, providing valuable skills, guidance, and expertise to commanders and organizations in their particular field. Quote:
Oh, i know the WO pay grade, but if i'm not mistaken most Navy Warrants have specialized training of a technical nature...after all, Deepsix and Depthcharge are both divers and they don't hold warrant grades...And Deepsix is incharge of piloting a flying submarine for chrissakes!
Maybe they have some sort of nuclear weapons training, for the recovery/disarmament of nukes? The LDO and CWO Programs are open to both active duty and Selected Reserve (SELRES) personnel. Qualified personnel may apply for both LDO and CWO simultaneously. A baccalaureate degree is not required, however, it is encouraged. Leadership ability, military qualifications, and technical expertise remain the key factors leading to selection. Quote:

Hell yeah! I actually had my first Shiner in a can last week on the golf course. Any golfers out there? Charles Coody is from here originally I think and when he retired he moved back and built the best golf course in town - Diamondback. Now the place really kicks arse because they finally added Shiner to the 19th hole (albeit in a can).
