Well, my woman doesn't approve of all my purchases, but she does try. She really wants me to liquidate my vintage stuff, and I'm trying, but its not fast enough for her.I guess she is more understanding about my modern collection because i make customs and do stuff with it, my vintage stuff is just tons of boxes taking up space in our house. She knows i would keep my vintage v2 snake eyes, and my v1 stormshadow, but the rest needs to be thinned out. and i agree, even if i am dragging my feet on it a little bit. I mean, i have 24 vintage hiss tanks....i don't even know why i got so many of them now... i bought alot of vintage stuff when my mom died though, so it was grief spending or whatever. I dunno.

Yeah my wife's understanding for the most part too. But she gets vexed when I ask her to stop at like 10 places on the way home so I can check, which is fair enough.
24 HISS Tanks though? Damn man! You should talk to CobraCrimson, he might be interested in your stuff. |

My wife is pretty cool about my toy spending. Especially when she sees the expensive hobbies her co-workers husbands have. $5 here, $20 there is nothing compared to what snowmobiles, hunting trips, fishing boats, rodeo, etc cost.

i just dug out a box last night that was my vintage IG stuff, i had forgotten i had even bought that stuff. A couple of DEMONs, a couple of Razorbacks, two despoilers and an AGP, plus a ziplock bag full of loose ig figures. Sometimes, i wish the modern figures had never come out...then i would probably still be interested in my vintage stuff.

A buddy of mine was really into his car, and he got into a wreck late last week and totalled it (he's fine though). I was talking to my wife about it yesterday and she didn't get why he was so into it, like suping it up and stuff. He's easliy dropped enough into it to have bought a new car, and he's going to have to now. All I could say was that that was his hobby, and she better be thankful that mine is fairly cheap compared to his. That's probably one reason why she's partly ok with it.

Yeah, my woman's brother is all about computers and he constantly drops crazy cash on building as system just to build a new one in a few months. What's worse is that he also sponges off her dad though, so part of that money is her dad's. but i totally understand what you're saying....joes as a hobby, on average, is a cheap thing. My minor warhammer obsession is much more costly that my joe and starwars fetish combined. I used to be major into roleplaying games, but there's not really anyone around me to play with..so it fell to the wayside. But my woman majorly approved of that more than toys because it was books, and creative, etc etc. My coworker is into archery and he drops alot of cash on that.

Just got back from lunch, did we win yet? Archery would be pretty cool as a hobby.

He's really competitive in the archery circuit, so i don't know "fun" it would be in that respect. he also Bowhunts and Bowfishes. I tried to get him to learn some "trick shots" ala Hawkeye but he thinks gimmicks like that "pollute the sport" . Go figure. |
