Morning Joes, someone throw a blanket on Shock, his rooster's showing.
Tenk, did you see this post? I made it a few days ago: Tenk, whenever you get on, I did that CP SS partswap with a 2009 Cobra 5-pack SS. It looks tons better than the shirtless look, but there is a slight difference in the shade of white between the two figs. For that reason, I used the whole leg instead of just the lower leg from the CP version. I also didn't want to remove the belt, so I figured I'd just put the knife back in there: |

Heya Strider,
Yeah i saw that..it looks good. I mixed the bottom legs with another one of the stormshadows (one of the cp ones i think) and just cracked the torso open and swapped the arms with the 5pk SS. Mostly because the trooper thighs bug me on a ninja. But that's my crazy talking....ymmv! |

Yeah I thought about doing that (cracking the torso) to get the Arashikage tat arm on there, but I figured that it wasn't worth the trouble. I'm happy with this. Only thing is is that the left leg is a little loose, but that's fine.
So what's up man? How's the IM 2 hunt going? |

Well, i use a hobby vise with rubber sheaths on the jaws to crack my torsos, and most figures crack easy. You can tighten the left hip pretty easy, a small piece of folded up paper in the hip cup will help.
IM2, eh...i have started disassembling some of them for my project, but it's slow going. |

hmm, i just have always used the hobby vise, but the vise grip uses the same basic principal.
and yeah, i had trouble with CS SE and RoC Commando SE (and subsequently Arctic SE as well, since it uses the Commando torso) |

Oh I could've cracked it, I just didn't want to go through the trouble and regluing it. I also figured that if I kept on using that claw the A tat would get scuffed so I didn't bother.
Incidentally HT, I got your fig here, I just need to post it and drop it in the mail. It'll get done today though. |

I'm just too lazy to buy a vise. I imagine the pressure can be applied more gradually with it. One thing I found out with those softer torsos is to drop them in hot (not boiling) water for a couple minutes and let them cool back down a bit. That seems to soften up the glue enough to crack the torso without damaging it. I actually do that with all of my fogures now.
