What's up Tenk and TC? I had made some shrimp fried rice for dinner last night with plenty left over for lunch for my wife and I and maybe another dinner as well. I want to eat it now but I'm thinking it will stink the office up!

Mornin Chief, Strider.
Hey Strider, i say go for the fried rice man. My supervisor makes microwaved "steamer bag" broccoli in my dept in our dep. microwave, so the whole pit smells like a wet fart and we just have to tuff it out...So go for it man! Personally, i frikkin love Shrimp Fried rice, so it would be awesome if i could smell it at work, but then i would probably be really hungry :( I make my own Shrimp Fried rice too, i like to use different shrimps though, the small ones, the mediums, and the jumbo. The small ones are like the size of a nickel, the mediums a quarter, and the jumbo ones are about the size of a thumb. I get them at The Fresh Market, wild caught and they are white/grey with dark grey stripes (the big ones) and then lighter grey stripes on the others. Throw in some scallions, some baby corns, and plenty of egg ftw! Now i am hungry. |

Lol, my wife emailed me just after she got in. On the way in to work, we were saying that one of us should heat it up first to see if it stinks and let the other one know. In her email, she didn't say "hi" or nothing, she said "did it stink?" I got a rep for bringing in food that smells though, so I need to tone it down a bit.
We used the medium sized shrimp, but that'd be cool to get some jumbo ones or prawns in there too. |

I think using the different kind of shrimps gives each bite a variable amount of "shrimpyness".
As for your rep at work, i too am the "stinky food guy" but only because i work with folks who refuse to deviate and try any other cuisine than football food. All of our potluck days have chili, bbq wings, mac n cheese, potato salad, bbq cocktail weiners, and then whatever i bring. Last time i brought something to potluck it was spicy 5 meat jambalaya, which included andouille, gator, shrimp, crawfish, and chicken. It was fantastic but all my coworkers complained about was the smell, it was too spicy, or they didn't eat gator or crawfish. So, i wound up taking it home and sharing it with my neighbors who loved it. Now i take pleasure in bringing in exotic smelling lunches, just to spite them |

LOL! That's more or less how it is here too Tenk. I've been making some in-roads in breaking them down but they're not quite there yet. The one thing that I freely admit was wrong was some squid that I had grilled one night and brought in for lunch the next day. THAT stank the place up. And my boss hates seafood, so double fail there. |
