Man we had the laziest weekend ever. We only went out on Saturday to pick up a crib we ordered from Babies R Us. It was nice to do nothing.

eh,im okay i guess. Still hunting Jungle Ripcords, and now hunting down cheap RIA dukes and rips. No new/exciting scores outside of a PTE apc which is kinda cool. Trying to thin out my vintage stuff and get rid of my fixed wing aircraft. I'm down to a vintage nightraven, a couple of pte f-18s, a VvV thunderwing, the black mini stealth plane the crimson hydra is molded from, and a couple of JvC Rattlers. Still so much stuff and so little space.

I'm jealous. I go back this weekend, then I have a travel break for about 3 weeks so that will be nice.

out of curiosity, why do some wrestling fans want to cast wrestlers in movie roles they are unsuited for? I have a friend who is all about wrestling and ufc and when any movie is on the horizon he always thinks a wrestler should play the main role...it's so bizarre to me since most wrestlers are very ill suited for drama heavy roles requiring them to play a role other than their wrestling character. Maybe it's just me, but Steve Austin in any role just seems like StoneCold! in a new outfit or costume....Am i taking crazy pills here?
EDIT: On a side note, i do think a WWE production of Hamlet using only wrestlers in every role would be hilariously entertaining. Last edited by Angry.Android; 01-25-2010 at 11:16 AM.. |

What's up UM?
Tenk, you're right in that most wrestlers won't have that much range, but guys like the Rock don't seem to be too bad. Of course, all he's done are action movies, kid movies or comedies. I think I was actually surprised by his role in Get Smart. The Rock might be an exception though. |

Yeah, i agree that the rock has certainly seemed to grow beyond his "rasslin' skills". But i cringe when hollyweird casts John Cena, Steve Austin, or any other wrestler really....so sad. I watched the trilogy of "Behind Enemy Lines" with my brother and my nephews and the first one was ok, it had owen wilson and gene hackman, the second was a bunch of no names and the third was the worst, starring some wrestling guy. I don't know who he is but my brother is apparently a fan. And don't even get me started on the "The Marine" series.

Mornin' Joes!
No work for me due to bad weather. As for WWE, I think the Rock is a very rare exception. He isn't a bad actor, and he is very charismatic. We talked at work the other day, and the people there liked him, and wondered why they called him Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. None of them even knew he used to wrestle.

I'm surprised the WWE let him use that name. I think they worked that out in a contract, but WWE usually doesn't let it's trademark names get away.

Yeah, but the rock is starting to go the way of Ice Cube, which is to say that hes slipping into family movie hell.
