Thanks. DH. That is was I was thinking about the big shields is it would make the game longer than maybe it needs to be.

I personally find the games way too short these days.
When I joined the games tended to run at least a week. One time almost three. Even the early chapters of Clas were about a week long. Now you barely make it past the fourth reset. I think that takes a lot of the fun and strategy out of it. It's easy to tightly coordinate 15-20 players for three days, there's a lot greater element of chance and a bigger factor for strategy in a longer game that's been missing lately IMHO. For example, last game both joe and cobra had items/commands left. And you knew that one would be used each day (and had a pretty good chance of guessing which too). If the game was, say, 7 days then only half the time would a team use a command or item and you would have a lot harder time predicting when and what. You would have to work a lot harder to make sure your strategy was better and not get panicked. Similarly the effects of reposts, missed posts and misfires is much greater. Which has an interesting effect. I know Clas busy so I don't expect him to go back to that, but I think it's a fair point. |

Yes it would annoy an opposing team, and definitely makes the game run much longer, but it makes zero difference to the final tally of the game than if the player were to use hurt or heal posts. Not relevant past this game anyway though. EDIT: the only scenario in which it does come out unbalanced is if the shield/heal total for one team is greater than the hurt total for the other team. And that requires approximately a 25-30 level difference between the rosters, which Cla would never allow fielded. So in no legal gameplay is it unbalancing. But it is theoretically possible if there's no level handicap on teams.

In the two years I've played, I only remember one game hitting day 8. Most others have been over by day 5/6 at the latest.

A longer game would maybe be a bit more fun and interesting, but not sure the teams could keep players active in the game for a week. With how busy everyone is now.

It worries me that you say same. Similar yes, but far from the same in terms of strategy.

I guess Cla could maybe add another target or two to Strike or up the HP on the amount of targets in the game now.
