Been a slow day here. I thought you smurfs live in mushrooms?

Granted from the first sub only 3 figures were must haves. The other 5 were ok and 2 I don't like and 2 will be kitbashed into something else.
I like Cesspool, and the Oktober Guard but the rest don't really do it for me. The "mystery" 13 th figure is the big draw for signing up since I don't want to miss out on getting a rare figure.

I was also underwhelmed. But since CB is only getting one this time around, and I'm far too socially uncomfortable to try and make another friend to buy the ones I want off of, I went ahead and subbed.

I'll just sign up on the installment plan this go around. Over the last couple month's the Club has gotten a lot of my $$$. I have a feeling I will regret not signing up...if only I until then end of month.

The club's choices have been nothing but head scratchers for me, the 13th the most mind boggling of them all. I don't see any of the ones they revealed as "must haves" or mind changers.

I was a huge fan of Wide Scope back on his initial release... Though I wish they'd gone with a new, or different head sculpt... and I'm kinda ticked that they used Lamont's original mold when a black-colored Order would have been perfect.

As for the parts reuse, expect the cheapest most "authentic" route and it seems to be what they'll do.

I personally fail to see why everyone insists on complaining about Blackout.
If they'd done a popular character...like say Cross County, can you imagine how people would be sreaming how "unfair" it was that someone like that was only available to those who bought a sub for all 12? Similarly, they couldn't go too obscure (to say Ice Cream Soldier or Dart) as it would de-inventivize people to sign up for the next sub. So it had to be a relatively popular character, ithout being terribly so. So that generally will mean a later era ARAH figure or popular new Sculpt character. This is hardly surprizing. And the execution is actually pretty decent. I fail to see the source of the complaints other than the usual tank "complain for complaint's sake" mentality. Also, as for the new FSS2 not having any game changing figures, lets compare shall we? Nano BAT ---- Ar Puro - direct repaint of a figure Quarrel ------ NF Falcon - straight repaint of a recent release TNT --------- Shipwreck - direct repaint +/- new head Sure Fire ---- Widescope - repaint with a couple new parts Iron Claw --- Desert Scorpion - popular unreleased figure Grunt ------- Bombardier - direct repaint of an OLD figure Cover Girl --- Keel Haul - kitbash, with accessories Jinx --------- Big Bear - repaint of an unreleased figure Dice -------- Skullbuster - direct repaint +/- new head Big Boa ----- Cesspool - kitbash with several new parts Topside ----- Toolbooth - kitbash with new head Barrell Roll --- Dragonsky - complicated kitbash Blackoug ---- ???? -- kitbash. I'm betting on Bombstrike THe sole difference between the FSS1 and FSS2 is that there are two who are repaints without new heads. Otherwise every figure lines up for the waves other than people's personal tastes in characters. There's no reason to be complaining to the club about that. EDIT: i do agree Widescope should have an unmasked head though. |
