Not only that, but it's a ROLEPLAYING game. I'm playing the role of a member of Action Force, this round, so I'm a loyal G.I. Joe. YO JOE!
I love the people in the IG thread (well, most of them ;) ) but I haven't turned my back on them by playing for the Mercs. And let's not forget, we're all fans of G.I. Joe toys/cartoons/comics, and all HISS Tankers. Which is fine if you have fun, but you're not 'LOYAL" to any team. It's 'one way' to play. I'm not going to say 'right way' or "wrong way' but it's not the way -I- play, and It's not showing loyalty to a team. (Which ever team that may be))

Though, I suppose, YMMV. dude PJ dont move, if you are very still he will lose attention and wander off! |

True PJ, and I totally respect what you are saying...
but when you've been doing this for awhile, and your friends are spread out all over the place, and all of your other friends left the tank to start their own website, and you find yourself having to start over and over and over again... Well the walls begin to look a little drabber, and the Cobra Cola a little flatter... And you begin to wonder, what am I missing on all these other teams that my brothers and sisters went too. Aaaaannnnndddd eventually you take a little trip. I am Cobra through and through. When I got in the floor and played with my little brother in the 80's, I always picked Cobra. When I got in the floor with my Children over the past 8 years, I was always Cobra. When I came on the tank, I didn't pick a neutral name, I locked myself in. I lurked for a couple of months and then finally joined the game. But my name came long before I decided to join. And it's because I am Cobra. I just got tired of shooting my favorite Joe dead and wanted be Stalker for a bit. That guys my hero. (we both came from the projects and made something of ourselves) But it takes a great villian to make a great hero. (Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ric Flair, HHH, Wild E. Coyote, etc...) I choose to be the one that makes you guys great. And now here I am trying to expand my horizons, expand my friendship base, meet new people y'know, and not just stay hidden in the Viper Pit all the time like I used too. I'm growing. ...and I'm glad I did. (but I can't wait to get home either) maybe after this round, and then a couple of rounds as a Cobra again, the Merc$ will be looking for some fresh blood. (But alas, I shall never wear a skirt, for I far to much prefer being a rival to Kneroh. Now there is a man who really knows how to make people hate... winning all the daggum time... what a jerk.) Oh wait did I type that out loud??? |

Just remember who's in charge of waste disposal after you melted the last dude with that portable Pink Floyd show of yours.

To address a certain part(s) of your post PJ

...when others bounce around like the teams mean absolutely nothing other than a 'flavor of the week' it's a little distasteful. ...
Going 'Oh I'm a joe but I'm going to this other team for a few rounds" to me.. says.. "You're a player in the game but not a "JOE" because.. you're not on our team. You're on which ever team sounds good 'that day'. .... ok at it. I have pride in my team. I stand up for um and I hang out in "my' Team's thread. I've become friends with a number of people on my team. Viper48 played 22 games with Cobra and led the very first cobra team ever. But he played 1 game with the Joes before returning for another 6 or so to Cobra. VadersQuest Co-led the original IG team for 6 games (4 wins) back in the day, but when the Joes needed a new leader, he stepped up for another 6 games. Lody played around 15 games for Cobra before turning Joe for 2 or 3. Look where he's back to now. Gungho Joe played 18 games with Cobra, followed by 8 with Joe, and then 3 more with cobra before quitting for real life reasons. Night Viper is one of the most staunch, hardcore Cobra's I've ever met. He's played around 20 games for Cobra throughout the years (i need to check), but he's agreed to play with the joes for 2 games or so to get to know some of his friends here better. I've played 24 games with the Joes, leading for 12, winning 9.5 (co or squad leader for another 4). Heck, if you check the roster, there's still about 30-40% of it that I recruited for the game. (add in some IGs and a cobra and I'm around 40 recruited players). I played a couple rounds for the IGs for various reasons, but now i'm back to support this team. Ren and Luigi bleed the olive drab and are just going to the mercs to help build a new team that would otherwise have little-to-no chance against an established opponent. They'll be back by next game I predict. They've put in almost 30 games on this team between them. Each person I list switched sides for personal, or game-related reasons, or a combination of both. That doesn't change which team they truely feel loyalty to. So I would be careful about casting aspersions on loyalties of those who play on other teams for a couple games. I know you mean no harm by it, but its not really accurate. *NOTE: I would also point out that its not bandwagoning. Each of the first 6 people I listed changed sides from a winning team to a losing team. Ren and Luigi went to a brand new team with little hope of winning their first game.
