Not getting TOO deep into it, but some people take the teams they're on a bit more seriously than others. Some of us pick our teams and stick with them win or lose. It's not just a pick up game for some, and when others bounce around like the teams mean absolutely nothing other than a 'flavor of the week' it's a little distasteful. If you're on 'all teams' and just pick a color per round, it takes away alot of the comrodery and what not.
I understand some people like it like that, but some don't. If you're on all teams what ever way the wind blows you, then it doesn't 'matter' if you win or lose. I'm the other way. I chose my team. I support it. Win or lose and I stay loyal. Just how I'm built. Going 'Oh I'm a joe but I'm going to this other team for a few rounds" to me.. says.. "You're a player in the game but not a "JOE" because.. you're not on our team. You're on which ever team sounds good 'that day'. Wich is fine. You're playing all sides. And if that's how YOU (( the You being anyone. Not any 'you' in specific)) have fun in the game. Have fun with it. It's just not how I look at it. I have pride in my team. I stand up for um and I hang out in "my' Team's thread. I've become friends with a number of people on my team. |

I think the Special Ops is more free for all... but I hope it's possible for G.I. Joe and Action Force to compete in that WITHOUT screwing the other. We'll see, though. |

I'm aware. I'm not throwing bricks or anything. I'm just pointing out my viewpoint.
When I was younger I pulled for the Steelers in foot ball. Win? I'd pull for them. Lose 20 games in a row? I'd still pull for them. The Steelers were 'my team'. There were a bunch of kids out there that were HUGE foot ball fans.. but if the Cowboys were winning, they were Cowboy fans... and if the Steelers were winning, suddenly they were steelers fans, and if the 49ers were winning they loved the 49ers. Doesn't mean they were 'bad people' or anything. They were just 'different' from me. I'm loyal to the team I pick. Most especially if I play on it and am not just a fan. I'm not the 'pick up game' sorta guy. if I play I play to win and if my team doesn't win, well that's ok, they're my people. My boys and my girls. We did our best.

My understanding is that it's G.I Joe vs Cobra, and Action Force (AKA Mercenaries) vs Iron Grenadiers in the Strike game, so no bro-ON-bro there.

Not only that, but it's a ROLEPLAYING game. I'm playing the role of a member of Action Force, this round, so I'm a loyal G.I. Joe. YO JOE!
I love the people in the IG thread (well, most of them ;) ) but I haven't turned my back on them by playing for the Mercs. And let's not forget, we're all fans of G.I. Joe toys/cartoons/comics, and all HISS Tankers. It's like saying an actor is disloyal for acting on two different shows. It's not a sport, and the RPG doesn't stand for Rocket Propelled Grenade. Though, I suppose, YMMV. Last edited by Uninvited Ghost; 05-09-2011 at 07:22 PM.. |
