Ahhh well I guess you're forced to just up the handeling cost by a percentage there.
It sucks. I get that. but I'm 99.9999% buier on Ebay not seller. I use Amazon to get alot now too. Flat shipping rates kick ass. But yeah I buy on ebay -alot- 4 to 20 things a month.. I can't complain about it from my side too much.

I understand that. Inflation sucks, but the converse is true as well. If ebay raises their rates too much the sellers have to raise theirs to cover it and the buiers buy less and ebay loses net money.

*nods* I understand the problem. I'm just saying Ebay can't raise stuff with impunity, because if they do they'll get less useage and lose money.
it does suck they're raising the rate 2% though

You guys know why they're taxing the shipping and handeling right?
Because people were purposefully going around Ebay's fees by Putting a $30 item up for $1 buy out with $29 shipping instead of $29 auction and $1 shipping. Can't blame them there.

That's true PJ but the amount of sellers doing that was around 5% Ebay did this mainly to get more money plain and simple. Think about 9% of all shipping costs = millions if not billions of dollars a year

Do they have studies showing that though? I know I ran into it quite a bit.

There was somewhere I read around 5% in the end the honest sellers and buyers will be affected. Ebay won't care they are making another 9%. If ebay wanted to solve the problem then put a cap in the category your listing in like they did with DVD's and game's. |
