CWO can put me on the roster for the game AFTER the upcoming one. I shall be the Merc for Hire once again. I need a cool-ass Mercer sig too. Maybe I will sport the ol Vic Striker special.

Players changing teams/ Moving to other teams.
I remember back when I was a kid, I used to go outside and play G.I. Joe with my friends. The first order of business was to pick your characters, choose your sides: "I want to be Zartan!", "I call Stormshadow!", "I call Flint!", "I'll be Beachhead!". Then...later that day, or the next day, we would be out there again, "Well, I was Zartan yesterday, so today I want to be a good guy, I'll be Stalker!" This is how kids think. This is why kids are so fu@king awesome. As kids, we all naturally understood that we are all friends playing a game, and that it didn't really matter if you play as a good guy or bad guy. It was about what made you feel "Cool" at that moment. Sure, there was that one kid who always played as Shipwreck, and refused to play as any other character (Looking at you Delgado), but that was his choice, it wasn't something that was forced upon him. It was a free and easy system. One day your Firefly, the next your Barbecue. So, here we are now as adults, playing a G.I. Joe game. Yes, we obviously do this for fun, otherwise we wouldn't play. However, there is also a certain level of competitiveness, which I think is a good thing. It feels great to win, especially against another team that is trying equally hard to win. That competition, that drive to win, forces us to play better and become stronger. Anytime you are part of a team, working with others to achieve the same goal, feelings of unity and camaraderie will inevitably grow. This sense of brotherhood is part of our drive to win, because it's no longer just about you, now its also about not letting down your brothers and sisters. I get that. The negative side to this, is that these feelings of team brotherhood often compel our decisions. I know that MANY of you would love to change teams now and then and bounce around, but you don't because 1: You feel a sense of obligation to your friends. 2: You fear that your teammates will feel betrayed and resent you. 3: You worry that the new team will not truly accept you as a brother because you came from "X" team. Back when I was a member of the Joe team, I thought it would be fun to play 1 game with Cobra, but I didn't. For all of the above reasons, but mainly because I felt that I would be letting down my Nightforce guys. When I first joined the game, choosing whether to join Joe or Cobra was a very tough decision. Why was this a tough choice? Because I knew in my gut, that whichever team I chose, the other team would probably hate me. If I chose Cobra, the Joes would hate me, if I chose the Joes, Cobra would hate me. I remember thinking even back then, "It shouldn't be this way". If I want to play for the Joes for a few games, then try my hand at being a Cobra for a few games, why not? What's the big deal anyway, this is a game right? We should be free to play as a good guy or a bad guy, Joe, Cobra, IG, whenever we feel like it, without the fear of being ostracized. I've seen this happen so many times, even recently; A player who has been a loyal and die hard member of your team, decides that he or she wants to try something new. All of the sudden it's "Traitor", "Backstabber", "Defector". So, let me get this straight, this guy has fought by your side for several months or even a year, and now that he/she wants to change teams for a few games, you immediately turn your back on him and cast him away. How quickly we turn our backs on those who have been our friends and teammates. Who is the real traitor here, the guy who wants to try something new, or his former teammates who now insult him? Changing teams, whether its for just one game, a few games, or forever, does not change the fact that this man or woman has fought for you. It does not take away all of the time and effort that this person has put into the team. If you call yourself a true friend, if you call yourself a true teammate, then you would say, "Hey, good luck over there bro, have fun! We are here for you whenever you decide to come back, because we have not forgotten everything that you have done for this team, and we still respect you and care for you as friend." There are a few who are against players changing teams. I understand your feelings, but, ultimately its not your decision. You cannot control what people choose to do with their time, you can only control how you react to it. I'm tired of the "Traitor" garbage. It's been old for a long time now. It's petty and it's mean spirited. I do not want to see any more of this in any of the team threads. I am quite serious about this, and I will leave it at that. This goes for all teams. I thank you for your time. |

Not so much. Players have always had the option and I do hope none of our great team leaves. HOWEVER this is more if one does---say a SE, Jaybeane or AA. We should respect their choice and what they have done for our team. And hope they find their way back. And in case like BATS as much as I'd like him to stay on our team, I know he's a roamer who enjoys fun on all sides. SO we enjoy his company when we can... |
