There's just too many more recognized and requested figures from the classic line to justify doing a Charbroil. It feels like Hasbro just had a chance to push off an easy (and inaccurate) repaint.
I wish Hasbro would spend a little more time on the tank looking at some of the amazing customs the boards members are pulling off using nothing more than existing parts. I realize tooling is expensive and the need to reuse parts over and over keeps costs down, and ensure's profitability but I wish they were little smarter in their choices on how to use those parts. That said, they aren't making them right now, but they are making Charbroil. yes, he's not a core character, but at least they're trying to put out a variety of classic characters with semi-modernized looks that are reminiscent of the original. I'm happy with that. Something that is clearly based on the original, but with slight changes to make it more relavant to today (like Wave 2 beachhead or Ace - neither are exactly like the original, but both are pretty cool re-dos - Ace's head aside) Between Charbroil and Repeater, it gives me hope that we might one day see all the classic characters updated in something resembling their classic looks. While he wasn't at the top of my list, I for one am happy to have him. |

Damn, i want my 7 packs :(

Exactly. I'd rather see the likes of Spearhead and Muskrat than some made up ROC character any day. |

Maybe it's just me, but so many of the characters from 1989 on up to the mid nineties were blah. So many ridiculous styles of costumes and concepts of that era will not be missed as far as I'm concerned.
On a brighter note, There is such a thing as instant karma, I just found three PP SE with grey timber and two elite vipers! All three grey timbers were on the same peg, I'm dumbfounded. |

WTF??? It's like an early 80's music video: doesn't make any sense.
