That's true kneroh. Like you mentioned earlier DH, I'm sure they could pull off an Airtight using existing parts and more people would be happier with that than with Charbroil. Personally, I don't mind them putting a Charbroil out.

There's just too many more recognized and requested figures from the classic line to justify doing a Charbroil. It feels like Hasbro just had a chance to push off an easy (and inaccurate) repaint.
"Oh we have a whole bunch of blow torch vests." "Throw it on some else's body and slap a helmet on him. Now he's Charbroil." "Who?" I wish Hasbro would spend a little more time on the tank looking at some of the amazing customs the boards members are pulling off using nothing more than existing parts. I realize tooling is expensive and the need to reuse parts over and over keeps costs down, and ensure's profitability but I wish they were little smarter in their choices on how to use those parts. The helmet it's the one that resolute 5pk duke has. It doesn't have a visor. So i assume it's a chromed CC head, since the neck looks also silvered too, and the helmet slaped onto it (maybe glued). It's the logical move, without having to retool the figure. If that's the case, then the chromed CC head is cool for...well, CC.

Even i could think on at least 10 unreleased joes, that can be easily made with already used parts, and are far more popular. I think they released charbroil to have a RoC flamethrowrer, without including Blowtorch. But it makes little sense, since they did Barbeque in both versions.

Too many people go overboard one way or another.
Some criticize hasbro for franken-joing Charbroil - yes, its not perfect, but come on, its pretty good. Some say that the desert outfits, gender and race changes are just perfect - not really. There is a moderation - yes, hasbro is doing some things well, but they're screwing up some others. Overall, they get a B from me. Its a good job, but too many mistakes. That's going to be my official slogan "Not perfect, but come on, it's pretty good!" LOL! Every time I see your sig I think it's Chuckles and the Baroness. |

Seriously, i think we'll see most of the unreleased figures in RoC versions. That kinda sucks, cos it means only black, red and blue figures, and i like the diversity (at some point tho...who would wear a red and white outfit? Ridiculous!) the old joe had. I would like to see a Budo. Tho i like the concept of a modern samurai, the figure itself was fugly and din't looked like a samurai...something like Destro's ancestor armor would be fucking awesome.

With all the new molds of arms, legs, heads, and whatever.. We can make our own customs of the figures we are missing. I am not near close to being an artist with a paintbrush.. but damn I will give it a try!!
