Unfortunately, ATL's mass transit system eats poop. Granted I might be biased as I'm from NYC...but IMO, it sucks.
Also, Atlanta is the EASIEST place to get lost in! Every street is named "Peach Tree" something or the other.
True Story - for my 24th birthday, me and a few friends decided to fly down to ATL to party for the weekend. Pick up our rental car.....and ask for directions.
Attendant - Where are you staying?
Me - The Marriott on Peach Tree (?)
Attendant - Oh, ok, so what you want to do is hop on i-75 for 2 exits, get off on Peach Tree. Make a right off of the off ramp, which will put you on Peach Tree. Go (turns to another person...) 3? Yes, 3 lights and make a left on Peach Tree.
Me - W.T.F.
Attendant - You seem confused?
Me - Um. You just gave me 3 sets of turns, of which all leave me on Peach Tree.
Attendant - Oh. One is Peach Tree Road, one is Peach Tree Ave, and the other is Peach Tree Ct.
Me - WTF.
Attendant - Would you like turn by turn navigation in the car?
Me - Nah, but you could get a city planner with a bit of an imagination.
I wish it weren't true...but it is. Wah.
